Itaewon brunch café open 9am, 5-min walk from Hyatt Namsan: Ongfleur
In short
Ongfleur is a brunch café in a quiet residential alley off Hoenamu-ro near Itaewon Station in Yongsan, Seoul, opening at 9am. After valet parking at Hyatt Regency Seoul Namsan and a 5-minute walk, the window table T3 came with smoked salmon and avocado eggs Benedict, each plated with a mini salad and tropical fruit — the best-looking brunch plates seen in a while. Parking at Ongfleur is tricky, but it pairs perfectly with a Hannam-dong gallery outing.

An Itaewon brunch spot, 'Ongfleur'

Ongfleur Tue-Sun 09:00-18:00 Closed every Monday
An Itaewon brunch spot that opens early, from 9am.

Why stop at Ongfleur on the way to a Hannam-dong exhibition?
Went to Hannam-dong for an exhibition after a long while. I'd planned to go alone, but my husband said he was starting work late and wanted to come along, so I quickly searched for an Itaewon brunch spot.
The inside was much bigger than it looked from outside, but it still had that cozy feel unique to alley-neighborhood cafés.

The best seat at Ongfleur: window table T3
The best seat here seems to be this window table. It sits right beside the wide floor-to-ceiling window and it's called T3. When ordering at the kiosk you have to pick a table, so if T3 is open — grab it! Definitely claim it first.

You order at the kiosk by the entrance. If you choose to dine in, there's a table selection step — that's when you grab T3 if it's free!

Three eggs Benedict options and the brunch set discount until 3pm
I picked this place for our Itaewon brunch date because they have eggs Benedict, which my husband especially loves. There are three kinds of eggs Benedict — salmon, avocado, and classic.

Besides that, there's brioche French toast, waffles, omelets, pasta, gnocchi, salads, pilaf and more — a wide range of menu options that make it a great Itaewon brunch spot to visit any time, morning or afternoon. If you order the brunch set before 3pm, you get an extra discount.

There's such a wide variety of coffee, juice, smoothies, ades, and organic teas that it'd be worth coming just for drinks.

This Itaewon brunch spot has been around for quite a while, and it seems to draw a lot of neighborhood regulars.

The space is divided into several charming little sections — enough that it made me wonder if this was originally a house rather than a commercial space. We settled into T3, the best seat, tucked in the innermost area.

It looked like the owner was alone in the kitchen, so I figured the food would take a while — but the brunch came out faster than expected.
They brought the coffee first... that alleyway backdrop vibe, though. A precious, happy moment.

Smoked salmon eggs Benedict: the best-plated brunch in a while
Smoked salmon eggs Benedict

Such a pretty plate that it instantly lifted my mood. Genuinely one of the best-looking brunches I've seen recently.

Eggs Benedict served with a mini salad and tropical fruit.

Even the mini salad comes in a glass cup, and the dressing in its own pretty little cup — that small touch alone makes you feel properly taken care of.

Avocado eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce
Avocado eggs Benedict

That lemon-bright hollandaise sauce is gorgeous every single time. Toasting the brioche and poaching the egg — sure, I could manage that at home. But that hollandaise sauce? No way, haha. This is the kind of eggs Benedict better bought than made.

Eggs Benedict uses English muffins as the bread, so it's easy to mistake it for a British dish — but it's actually a classic American brunch item that originated in New York.

Interestingly, though, the café's name Ongfleur (옹플뢰르) is actually Honfleur, a small port town in Normandy, in northwestern France. I'd guess the owner opened this brunch café based on some personal memory tied to that place.

On top of that, they add tropical fruits like dragon fruit and passion fruit to the plate, giving the eggs Benedict brunch an exotic feel.

Classic eggs Benedict usually comes topped with bacon or ham, but the umami of smoked salmon pairs surprisingly well too!
You can tell a well-made poached egg the moment you cut into it — the second you press the knife down and it bursts, the yolk spilling out, it's a sight that makes you go haha, wow.
Peeking out beneath the soft, creamy poached egg were arugula, mashed avocado, and tomato. The bread seemed to be toasted in butter too — crisp on the bottom, soft on top where it soaked up the sauce. Every element came together in the mouth in perfect harmony.

It had been a while since I'd had such a great eggs Benedict, and with the nice atmosphere plus a bunch of other menu items I still want to try, this is an Itaewon brunch spot I'd love to revisit.

Parking at Ongfleur: valet at Hyatt Namsan and walk 5 minutes
▶Ongfleur parking◀ There's no dedicated parking lot, and since it's tucked inside an alley, driving here is a bit of a hassle. We valet parked at Hyatt Regency Seoul Namsan and walked over — it's within a 5-minute walk, so if you happen to have an affiliate card, that's the best option. The nearest public parking lots are Itaewon Public Parking Lot No.2 and Namsan Park Public Parking Lot. We ended up walking all the way to Pace Gallery and back from here — the weather was great, and wandering through the Hannam-dong residential streets was such a nice bonus.
