Today I'm sharing my review of Gapposo, located near Gasan Digital Complex. While looking for restaurants in the Gasan Digital Complex area, I found this place with a wide variety of Japanese dishes and private dining space, so I decided to visit. The exterior already felt clean and calm, and stepping inside, the warm lighting and wood-toned interior made it cozy! It was great for a relaxed date dinner too, and I was satisfied being able to enjoy sushi, donburi, fried food, and udon all at once.

Where Gapposo is and when it opens

Gapposo is located at 1st floor, Unit 106, Hyundai Terra Tower Gasan DK, 144 Gasan Digital 2-ro, Geumcheon-gu. It's open daily from 11:30 to 22:00, with a break time from 15:00 to 17:00, last order at 21:30, and closed on Sundays.

Inside Gapposo: private rooms and wood-toned seating

From the exterior alone, Gapposo felt upscale — like I had actually stepped into Japan! The wood-textured sign paired with the clean exterior gave off a fine-dining vibe even before walking in.

Stepping inside, the warm lighting and wood-toned interior blended together for a comfortable, cozy atmosphere overall. The tables were neatly arranged, and even though I visited in the evening, the mood was calm and relaxed, making it easy to chat over the meal. There were also private room-style seats available, which seemed great for couples on a date or small group gatherings. If you're looking for a quiet place to eat near Gasan Digital Complex Station, this kind of atmosphere would suit you well.

What comes in the 49,000-won weekend set for two

While looking over the menu deciding what to order, we went with the weekend set for two. It was a course-style set letting you try several dishes at once, which seemed like a good fit for two people.

Once we sat down, the pre-meal rice porridge came out first in a cute little bowl.

It was a smooth-textured porridge with a chicken broth base — savory and light, perfect as an appetizer before the real meal, and mild enough to eat without any burden. It made me even more curious what the main dishes would be like!😍

The set included a kaisendon (seafood rice bowl) topped with a variety of seafood, a plump unagidong (grilled eel rice bowl), 6 pieces of sushi, karaage (Japanese fried chicken), and mini udon — plenty of food for two people! I loved being able to try so many different dishes at once. It felt like eating a premium Japanese course meal😊.

Being able to enjoy this many Japanese dishes for around ₩40,000 for two felt like really good value. For that reason, I'd highly recommend Gapposo as a date spot! If you're someone who feels like ordering just one dish isn't enough, this kind of set menu is a great option.

Unagidong (grilled eel rice bowl)

I started with the unagidong. The eel, piled generously on top of the rice, was well coated in a sweet and salty sauce — soft and not overly seasoned, so it went well with the rice.

There was almost no fishy taste characteristic of eel, and pairing it with wasabi or shredded ginger gave it a whole different flavor. Personally, this was one of the most satisfying dishes I had that day. Comparing it to eel rice bowls I've had in Japan, it honestly held its own👍.

Kaisendon (raw seafood rice bowl)

Next was the kaisendon, topped with colorful seafood. It was loaded with sweet shrimp, eel, tuna, salmon, and various types of sashimi, so it looked really appetizing! The sashimi was fresh with a soft texture, and eating it with the rice gave a clean yet savory flavor. I love kaisendon, and this one was very satisfying.

Six pieces of sushi

The 6 pieces of sushi included in the set also arrived. Even though it's a budget-friendly set, the quality of the sashimi didn't feel lacking at all. The thickness of the fish was just right, easy to eat in one bite. Being able to eat a piece of sushi in between bites of the rice bowls made the meal feel more varied and fun.

Karaage fried in-house at Gapposo

The karaage was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. I think it was the best karaage I've had at a Japanese restaurant recently. A lot of places use frozen karaage, but at Gapposo it seemed like they batter and fry it themselves in-house. The batter had a slightly spicy-sweet flavor to it, giving it the feel of a special dish like ganpungi (Chinese-style sweet and spicy chicken)! It seemed like it would pair really well with beer👍.

Thanks to its crispy texture, having a piece here and there while eating the rice bowls or sushi added fun contrast and made the meal even more delicious. Having one fried dish included made the whole meal feel a bit more substantial.

Mini udon

Lastly, mini udon came out as well. The broth was clean and warm, so it was great to sip on in between bites of the rice bowls or sushi, like a substitute for a light soup.

The portion was mini-sized, so it wasn't too much to handle alongside the other dishes, and having a warm broth made the meal feel really well-rounded. After tasting each dish one by one, I understood why the weekend set for two is so popular. With everything from rice bowls, sushi, and fried food to mini udon, it was much more filling and fun than ordering just one dish. Especially for a date, it seemed like a great set to order and share together.

Gapposo's lunch omakase and bento by reservation

I also found out Gapposo offers a lunch omakase for ₩29,000! I definitely want to try it next time I visit. If you're looking for a good-value omakase in the Gasan area, check this place out.

Is Gapposo worth it for a date dinner?

I visited Gapposo while looking for a clean, well-kept Japanese restaurant in Gasan Digital Complex, and overall I was satisfied with both the atmosphere and the food. Thanks to the warm lighting and wood-toned interior, the space felt cozy, and the private rooms made it a good option for a date too. Above all, I loved that the weekend set for two was ₩49,000 and included such a variety of dishes — kaisendon, unagidong, sushi, karaage, and mini udon.
