Paju noodle house near Heyri: ₩8,000 bossam, Cheonje Guksu
In short
Cheonje Guksu is a noodle and suyuk (boiled pork) restaurant in Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju, near Heyri Village. A couple with big appetites visited on a Saturday at 3pm and ordered a regular kongguksu (cold soybean noodle soup), an extra-large janchi guksu (warm banquet noodles) and two plates of one-person bossam (boiled pork wraps), where the bossam costs 8,000 won and the extra-large portion costs the same as the regular. The bossam is chewy with a chive sauce that steals the show, and the noodles are piled above the rim of the bowl, so portion size is never a worry at Cheonje Guksu.

I'm a newlywed who moved to Paju ✌️ I'd been craving bossam (boiled pork wraps) all week, so I went looking for a good spot near Heyri Village and found a place with great reviews. The place I visited is 'Cheonje Guksu' 💚
Cheonje Guksu in Paju: the verdict first
Cheonje Guksu is a noodle and suyuk (boiled pork) restaurant on Saeori-ro in Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju, and the 1-person bossam is ₩8,000 with a generous portion. Since I'm impatient, let me give you the verdict first 🙂 the food is clean and carefully made. (The bossam especially is really delicious and generous.)
My husband also said it sat well and tasted great, so as a Paju resident, I'd definitely go back ❣️ And the owner is kind and the place is spotless - 👍🏻
Also, the restaurant is set back pretty far, but cars kept pulling in and people kept coming through the door. It seems like it's already word-of-mouth famous haha (I visited on a Saturday at 3pm). To all my fellow Paju people near Heyri! If you're looking for a good noodle/boiled pork restaurant in Paju, I recommend this place ☺️
Cheonje Guksu menu prices and why an extra-large portion costs the same
First, the restaurant and menu!

Looking at reviews, a lot of people talk about the doenjang (soybean paste) noodles. But today we're here for bossam, so we went with other menu items ☺️
Can you see it? Even with my 1.0 eyesight, it clearly says the extra-large portion is the same price 👍🏻❣️ (As a big-eater couple, I thought that was such a thoughtful touch!) Of course, you shouldn't just always shout for extra portions out of greed — please order according to your own appetite 👀
What the couple ordered at Cheonje Guksu
- Me: kongguksu, regular portion + 1-person bossam
- Husband: janchi guksu, extra-large portion + 1-person bossam
It said the soybeans are 100% domestic and home-grown 🫛🫛 As soon as I saw that, I ordered the kongguksu (of course, I'm a kongguksu lover)
What side dishes come with the noodles?
The side dishes at Cheonje Guksu were neat and clean! The tofu was nutty and delicious. The soy sauce drizzled on top was so good 🙂

How big are the kongguksu and janchi guksu bowls?
The food came out in under 10 minutes lol. The bowl size is overwhelming 🤣🤣 Everything tasted great! Very clean and carefully made 💛

Ah, seriously lol. The bowls are really huge. There's a generous amount of toppings piled on, and the portion is truly big

Hahahaha this is the regular portion of kongguksu, look at that amount... Women might want to order the smaller portion 🤣 My husband's janchi guksu is seriously piled high haha. The owner's hand must be really generous 👍🏻😚

Look at the bowl size lol, attaching a photo 😚
One-person bossam for 8,000 won: the chive sauce is the kick
And the reason I came here — the bossam I'd been craving. It's genuinely delicious.

I came here wanting bossam, and look at this...!!! It's chewy and glistening — not just chewy, it's really chewy chewy. Genuinely a bossam standout... I have to admit it 👍🏻 This is the 1-person portion, priced at ₩8,000. Such a good price, and the owner must have a really generous hand 🥹🩵
And that chive garnish is the standout — no idea what the sauce is, but it's not greasy at all, doesn't taste artificial, and is genuinely delicious. Maybe a chive-seasoned sauce? So good ✌️

Inside Cheonje Guksu, and those oversized green peppers
I also took a quick look around the restaurant

It was exactly as clean as it looked. We went around 3pm to avoid the lunch rush, and it was still spotless - 😌

There was also an amusing detail — the peppers were genuinely huge and fresh lol. Can you see the color! My husband devoured five peppers in a flash. He said they were crisp and spicy 🌶️

It was funny so I took a photo. Seriously huge lol 🤣 They looked like they might be homegrown, but I didn't ask so I'm not sure. Anyway, we cleaned our bowls 🤣
Why Cheonje Guksu is worth a stop when you visit Heyri Village
The area in front of Cheonje Guksu is pure healing... A café would fit in nicely here too 🍀 If you're craving kongguksu! Craving bossam! You're a big eater!!! I recommend this place. It's a hidden Paju gem with skilled cooking and food that clearly shows care ✌️

If you're visiting Heyri and looking for a good Korean restaurant nearby, I recommend this place 😌
