Cheese dakgalbi restaurant near Heyri Village, Paju: Mom's Uijeongbu
In short
Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae is a Korean restaurant right at the entrance to Heyri Village in Paju, Gyeonggi, serving budae jjigae (army stew) and dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken). Two servings of cheese dakgalbi (17,000 won per serving) and one finishing fried rice (4,000 won) arrived on a hot plate, so the cheese kept stretching to the last bite and the rice crisped at the bottom like nurungji (scorched rice). A Korean food spot near Heyri Village — Paju dakgalbi and clean, tidy Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae
Where to eat Korean food at Heyri Village, Paju

Heyri Village in Paju is famous as a date spot for people near Seoul, drawing crowds every weekend. The art village is packed with restaurants, Western-style eateries and dessert cafes, but if you're craving Korean food instead of pasta or pizza, there's a budae jjigae and dakgalbi specialist right at the entrance to the village.
I visited Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae, a Korean restaurant near Heyri Village in Paju (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

Inside Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae and where to park
The interior was quite spacious and pleasant, with lots of neatly arranged tables — it looked great for group gatherings or company dinners haha
There's also a private parking lot right behind the building, so driving there is easy with no parking worries. Finding parking at Heyri Village usually means circling around several times... but Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae had a spacious lot and a great location right at the entrance to the village ( ´͈ ᵕ `͈ )

Ordering by table QR code or entrance kiosk
Every table at Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae has a QR code, so you can order right from your seat by scanning it. If scanning is difficult or inconvenient, there's a kiosk near the entrance where you can order and pay all at once (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

True to its name, Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae had a wide variety of budae jjigae on offer — basic, spicy, beef brisket, and aged kimchi versions — plus dakgalbi in both basic hot-plate and cheese versions. On top of that, you could choose from various noodle sari, handmade tteokgalbi, mandu, grilled Spam and other sides and toppings to suit your taste haha
We went back and forth between budae jjigae and dakgalbi... but seeing the table next to us eating dakgalbi settled it — we finally ordered the cheese dakgalbi!

Self-serve banchan bar with free refills
Next to the kiosk there's a self-serve bar where you can refill the basic side dishes as much as you want without feeling awkward about it. None of the food at Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae is reused, so feel free to take only as much as you'll actually eat!

Stir-fried fish cake, bean sprouts, kimchi, and pickled radish were all neatly laid out. Your first round is set on the table for you, and after that you can use the self-serve bar whenever you need a refill ( ´͈ ᵕ `͈ )

Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae is close to Heyri Village and Provence in Paju. It's hygienic and generous with portions, so you can eat with confidence, and every dish is made with the diner's health in mind. Please feel free to visit anytime for a healthy budae jjigae or dakgalbi. Everything cooked at Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae is made by hand, so you can eat with peace of mind.

How clean is the kitchen and how fresh are the ingredients?
They use Hansuwi Paju rice, a representative rice from the Paju region, which gives the rice great flavor, and the chicken is said to be 100% domestic Harim chicken. Since the rice and aged kimchi are also all domestic, it's a Heyri Village spot you can trust.
They also have an ultrasonic dishwasher installed, running thorough hygiene management through ultrasonic sterilization and cleaning — a place that should satisfy even people who are particular about hygiene ღ'ᴗ'ღ

On one wall, there were countless autographs from famous visitors, all lined up haha

Cheese dakgalbi on the hot plate, 17,000 won per serving

📌 Cheese dakgalbi · ₩17,000 per serving

The cheese dakgalbi at Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae comes out fully cooked from the kitchen, so there's no waiting before you dig in, and it's served on a hot plate that keeps the heat for a long time, so it stayed warm all the way through the meal.
Maybe because it's 100% domestic Harim chicken, there was no gamey smell at all, and it wasn't dry — very tender (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
Adding soft, savory cheese to the spicy dakgalbi mellowed out the heat, and the combination was excellent. Cheese dakgalbi, fully recommended! ( ´͈ ᵕ `͈ )
Even without ordering extra toppings, there was already plenty of cabbage, perilla leaves, rice cake, sweet potato and more mixed in, so there was a lot to pick through, and the portion — even split between two people — was very generous. We got full just from the dakgalbi alone.

Because the hot plate holds heat so long, the cheese never hardened and kept stretching all the way to the end! If you love cheese, definitely order the cheese dakgalbi haha. The cabbage was well soaked in sauce too, so it was tasty on its own, and I wrapped some in fresh perilla leaves, ate it with pickled radish, and paired it with the basic stir-fried fish cake side, refilling a bit more to eat together.
Finishing fried rice, 4,000 won per serving

📌 Finishing fried rice · ₩4,000 per serving
The portion was already quite large so the dakgalbi alone was very filling... but you can't eat dakgalbi without finishing with fried rice, so we ordered one serving. They added rice with seaweed flakes, perilla leaves, kimchi and sesame oil, and stir-fried it right at the table.

The sweet-and-spicy sauce combined with fragrant sesame oil made it the perfect finish. It's normally best when the bottom layer gets slightly crisped into nurungji (scorched rice), and since it was on a hot plate, it crisped up quickly and got even more fragrant ღ'ᴗ'ღ. It's the kind of dish you end up scraping the pan clean for... The dakgalbi sauce wasn't overly strong or harsh either, it was clean, and I'd definitely recommend finishing with the fried rice haha
Is Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae worth it near Heyri Village?

The restaurant was clean, the main ingredients like chicken and rice were domestic, and above all I could feel how much care they put into hygiene, which was satisfying. It was great that there's a private parking lot in an area like Heyri Village where finding parking is normally hard, and being right at the entrance to Heyri Village made it a great spot for a Korean meal before heading straight into sightseeing ( ´͈ ᵕ `͈ )
Generous portions and tidy side dishes — the two of us left full and satisfied down to the last bite. If you're looking for a Korean restaurant near Heyri Village in Paju, I'd recommend visiting Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae, a go-to spot for budae jjigae and dakgalbi near the village ღ'ᴗ'ღ
