A solo sandwich lunch in Hannam-dong on my way to the dentist

I've been going to the same dentist for years, and it's in UN Village, so I've been in Hannam-dong a lot lately getting dental work done. I usually go to Hannam-dong to meet friends, so I rarely eat alone there — but with all these dental visits, I've had to figure out quick solo meals.

When I eat alone, sandwiches or gimbap (seaweed rice roll) are my go-to. On the way from Hannam Five-Way intersection toward UN Village, I spotted Dance Dance Dance, a well-known Hannam-dong spot, so I stopped by. I'd been to the Seoul Station branch once before and remembered the baguette sandwich being really good.

Location and parking

Dance Dance Dance sits right at the start of the hill from Hannam Five-Way intersection. It's on the ground floor, so it's not hard to find — right next to Banana Grill haha.

There's no dedicated parking, and since it's mainly a takeout shop, there's no restroom either. A sign says staff will point you to their own restroom in emergencies, but it also notes that it's fairly old.

Atmosphere, seating, and waiting

Since this is primarily a takeout shop, the only seats are the window bar table and some chairs outside. Inside fits about 3 people, and even at 3pm on a weekday it was full. It opens at 8am, so it seems like a good breakfast option too.

I've often seen a wait here, but since I came outside mealtimes, I didn't have to wait. There's a sign asking dine-in customers to secure a seat before ordering. If there's a wait, you write your name on the waiting list inside.

While I ate, a group order came through and takeout customers kept steadily coming in too. Not a bad atmosphere for a quiet solo meal at this Hannam-dong sandwich shop.

It's small but clean, and the branded goods scattered around were cute haha.

You order at the kiosk by the entrance. The Dance cold brew cans are pretty hip too haha.

The seasonal fig baguette tempted me too, but since I prefer the basics, I ordered the classic baguette sandwich and the chicken breast sandwich.

After ordering, they take the bread out here and make it in the back. The staff were very friendly.

They're also running a review event. I've cut caffeine, so I passed on it.

The sandwiches came out not long after ordering. I'd ordered them to go, but since a seat opened up at just the right time, I decided to eat there.

You can choose baguette or ciabatta for the bread, but I forgot to switch one to ciabatta, so I ended up with both as baguette.

The dine-in time limit is 90 minutes, apparently.

On the left is the chicken breast sandwich, on the right the baguette sandwich. Both were cut into 2 pieces, so I got to try a bit of each. True to its reputation as a Hannam-dong sandwich spot, the baguette was really crisp and delicious.

The chicken breast sandwich had the chicken minced in like a spread, which made it easy to eat.

The sauce was subtly sweet and tangy, so I think most people would enjoy it without much fuss.

The baguette sandwich was just the classic combination, which I liked even more.

The baguette was crisp, and the house-made ham, vegetables, and cheese went really well together.

Would I come back?

With so many sandwiches to try — tofu cream cheese, matcha, and more — I'm planning to stop by again now and then to work through the menu. Next time I'll try the pollock roe potato one. It's a no-fuss Hannam-dong spot to swing by on the way to the dentist, and since it opens early in the morning, it also worked well as a solo dining spot in Hannam-dong. Thanks for the meal.
