If you're on the hunt for a good pork cutlet spot in Yongsan, listen up!! Here's my review of 'Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang, Yongsan branch'!

I recently got a craving for proper old-school Western-style pork cutlet, so I paid a visit. From the cutlet made with care using Dodram Korean pork, to the great value for money, to the warm atmosphere that's perfect for eating alone, I was so satisfied that I had to share it with you right away >_<

How to find Onjeong in Richensia Building B: hours and parking
Yongsan Donkatsu Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang, Yongsan branch is located at 341 Baekbeom-ro, Richensia Building B, 1st floor, Unit 107, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. It's open Tue–Sun 11:00–21:00, closed every Monday, with a break time of 15:00–16:30 and last order at 20:00.
Onjeong is on the 1st floor of Richensia Building B! I just typed 'Richensia' into my navigation and it guided me to Building A, so I ended up parking there and then having to park again... haha. But 2 hours of free parking is available!!

Onjeong uses 100% Dodram Korean pork, vacuum-ages it to maximize tenderness, and I heard the cutlets are pounded by hand one by one rather than by machine.

Onjeong menu prices and kiosk ordering
From meal items like spicy pork cutlet and curry pork cutlet, to distinctive fried tofu and fish cake udon, to refreshing green tangerine cold buckwheat soba, the range of choices was really wide.

You order and pay in advance via kiosk. You can mix and match according to your taste, and there are well-designed set menus too, so anyone can enjoy a satisfying meal.
Is Onjeong good for solo dining? Bar seats and interior
The overall vibe you feel the moment you walk in — perfect for eating alone — matched the name 'Onjeong' (warmth), it was warm and comfortable haha.
These days a lot of people eat alone, and this place has bar seating well set up for solo diners, so you can eat comfortably without feeling self-conscious! When I visited, there were quite a few solo diners eating leisurely at the bar seats. There are also clean, well-kept 2-person and 4-person tables.
Unlimited rice and side dishes at the Onjeong self bar
One of the big advantages of Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang is the self bar!! Not only are the basic side dishes provided, but rice is unlimited refill! When eating pork cutlet, you sometimes run short on rice, but here you can help yourself to as much as you want, which is amazing value for money hahaha. I think this is the best perk for big eaters or anyone who wants a really filling meal hahahaha.
Water is self-serve!

I ordered the cheddar cheese pork cutlet and the classic pork cutlet + cold soba set.

The warm, savory mushroom soup!! Totally my type ㅠㅠ The smooth, rich flavor wrapped around my palate perfectly and whetted my appetite. The dinner roll that came with it was delicious dipped in the soup too, just so you know.

How the cheddar cheese pork cutlet tastes at Onjeong
Onjeong's signature dish, overwhelming from the visuals alone — the cheddar cheese pork cutlet (₩13,500).

The savory, salty cheddar cheese was really piled on thick on top of the cutlet lol.

The harmony of the crispy cutlet crust, tender juicy Korean pork, and melting cheddar cheese was really 👍👍👍 If you love cheese, you'll fall for this without question!!

When it gets too rich, there's diced radish kimchi and pickled radish!

Classic pork cutlet with cold soba set, 14,500 won

This is the combo I ordered from the great-value set menu! The classic Western-style pork cutlet, soaked in a sweet, salty, umami-packed sauce, had really thick yet tender meat that was great to chew on!

Pairing this with the cool, savory broth of the cold buckwheat noodles cut right through the richness of the cutlet, so I could enjoy it down to the very last bite without getting tired of it!

Is Onjeong in Yongsan worth a visit?
A carefully hand-pounded Korean pork cutlet, crispy outside and juicy inside, a hearty unlimited self bar, and a cozy atmosphere perfect for solo dining!
