I went for a weekend lunch to a restaurant near Seooreung that's known for great jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup). It's close to my house and always delicious, so this was another repeat visit. Tangsuyuk, sujebi jjamppong, and jjajangmyeon made for a very satisfying lunch.
Where is Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch, and is there parking?

There's a spacious parking lot right in front of the restaurant, so parking is always easy.
Inside the restaurant: self-bar sides and the free coffee bar

I went for an early lunch, and it got busier a little later. The restaurant was upscale, clean, and pleasant.

It's a great spot for a family meal, a group dinner, or even a date.

The self-bar has bean sprouts, kkakdugi, cheongyang chili peppers, jjachai (pickled radish), and onion — worth checking out when you visit. The rice in the rice cooker is free.

There's also a corner with free coffee and cold drinks. The coffee options include Americano, café latte, and caramel macchiato — the coffee tastes really good, so I always have a cup when I come here. The cold drinks include iced tea, plum tea, and a blue drink, all rich and tasty.

The basic side dishes on the table were danmuji (pickled radish) and jjachai. The danmuji was individually packaged, which made it feel more hygienic to eat. Kkakdugi and bean sprouts were fetched separately from the self-bar.
Medium chapssal tangsuyuk: sauce poured and served on the side

Finally, the food arrived at this Goyang favorite. Pretty impressive presentation, right?
This is the medium size sweet rice tangsuyuk. I always order tangsuyuk whenever I visit Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch.

It's crispy and chewy — so delicious. Sauce is poured underneath and the meat is stacked in layers, so the bottom layer soaks in the sauce (bumeok style) while the top stays dry for dipping (jjikmeok style), letting you enjoy crispy tangsuyuk from start to finish.

As a dipping-sauce person myself, I was very satisfied. The sweet potato fritters were also excellent.
Jjajangmyeon at 9,500 won: sweet rather than salty, with chewy noodles

Let me show you the jjajangmyeon and sujebi we ordered as our meal at this Goyang favorite.

The jjajangmyeon wasn't salty at all — sweet and smooth.

It's tasty enough that kids would eat it happily too. A flavor that pleases everyone, young and old.

The noodles stayed springy and chewy from the first bite to the last.
Sujebi jjamppong, 13,000 won: hand-torn dough instead of noodles

Here's the sujebi jjamppong from this Goyang lunch favorite.

This dish has no noodles in the jjamppong broth — just sujebi instead. The sujebi was chewy and springy.

The spicy jjamppong broth tasted really good.

And a taste of the jjamppong mandu — dumplings with jjamppong flavor, spicy and delicious.
The food was tasty, the staff were kind, and the atmosphere was comfortable — Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch was a great experience. You'll be satisfied if you go.
