Today I want to introduce Pyeongdae Alhi, where I had lunch on the last day of my 3-day, 2-night trip to Jeju!

Where is Pyeongdae Alhi? Pyeongdae-ri, Gujwa-eup, near Snoopy Garden and Bijarim Forest
True to its name, Pyeongdae Alhi is in Pyeongdae-ri, Gujwa, Jeju! If you're looking for good restaurants near Bijarim Forest or Snoopy Garden, this could be handy too. (The owner clearly loves Gujwa a lot..💛)
The vibe changes completely once you step inside, totally unlike the exterior..!

Inside Pyeongdae Alhi: wood furniture and antique pieces
Can you already see the wood everywhere, which I absolutely love, along with all the antique, vintage-feeling props~?

There's even a seat with a chandelier, and the antique furniture and props really do a lot for the interior — I especially love spaces with windows like that haha

Why you should book Pyeongdae Alhi ahead: one chef runs the kitchen
Pyeongdae Alhi is run by a single chef! Each table can seat up to 4 people including kids, and I'd recommend booking ahead — since we reserved, the food was ready right on time, which made things really convenient✨

Window seats with a view of the Jeju countryside
There are some real standout seats — some let you eat while looking out at the Jeju scenery through the window!

There's also a long table where a group of around 4 people can sit together haha

This is the seat we picked! I loved everything about it..🤍 The window and curtain shape were totally my style, plus that sofa-like antique chair💗
Pyeongdae Alhi menu: what comes in the 59,000-won sous-vide set for 2
The menu is arranged as set menus with a main dish plus drinks!

What we ordered — sous-vide set for 2 | ₩59,000
- Sous-vide steak
- Hallasan pasta
- Alhi salad
- 2 drinks (cheongyul ade, hallabong ade)
Bread to start the meal

The bread comes out first!

Dipped in the sauce that comes with it, the bread turns soft and really wakes up your appetite haha

Since we booked in advance, everything on the menu came out all at once — so nice..🥰

Alhi salad: loaded with shrimp
Alhi salad🦐 It's a salad, but it's loaded with shrimp! Usually a shrimp salad only has a few on top, but you can tell from the photo alone how many shrimp are in this~? If you love shrimp, the Alhi salad is a huge recommend 🤎

Hallasan pasta with peeled Jeju sweet shrimp
Hallasan pasta🍝 A pasta that's Jeju through and through, even by name! It comes with ddak-saeu (sweet shrimp)!

The best part was that the sweet shrimp came already prepped, so you didn't have to peel each one — you could just pull out the meat and eat haha

There was a generous amount of sweet shrimp, and when eaten with the noodles the seasoning soaked in so well that the seafood umami really came through!

Sous-vide steak with avocado sauce
Sous-vide steak🥩 Maybe because it was cooked sous-vide, the meat was tender all the way through! Thick but never chewy, it went down easily — the steak was delicious on its own, and the garnishes that came with it were perfect too!

Especially the combo with the avocado sauce that came alongside it — insane! Put a bit of avocado sauce on a piece of steak and the nutty avocado flavor really comes through, so chewy and good..❤️ (I want to go back just for this)

Look at the amount of garnish haha I always like having garnish with steak, and I've never seen a place give this much variety!

Green tangerine ade and hallabong ade
Cheongyul ade + hallabong ade🍊 Since we were in Jeju, I picked drinks that felt very Jeju — the cheongyul ade was more tart-sweet, while the hallabong ade leaned sweeter, so ordering both to drink alternately was great!
Why Pyeongdae Alhi fits an east Jeju day trip
The food at Pyeongdae Alhi was delicious, but I think the atmosphere of the space made the food taste even better! A great place to sit in a pretty space, talk, and eat slowly! I think it'd suit dates in Jeju or any day you're looking for a restaurant with a bit of ambience💗 If you're looking for good restaurants in Gujwa-eup, east Jeju, or near Snoopy Garden, add this to your east Jeju itinerary✨
