Unjeong bakery levain baguette to go, air fryer tip: Boulangerie Tan
In short
Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch is a neighborhood bakery on Chorongkkot-ro in Unjeong, Paju, baking with naturally fermented levain and organic French flour. Takeout of the basics — baguette, ciabatta and salt bread — showed a baguette few other bakeries could beat, and buying 3 salt breads came with 1 free gourmet butter salt bread. The bread is best the same day, but freezing it and reheating for 5 minutes in a 180°C air fryer brings back the crisp crust and soft crumb.

Boulangerie Tan is a neighborhood bakery where the basic breads are genuinely delicious.

If you're looking for a bakery hotspot in Paju's Unjeong neighborhood, you've probably heard of Boulangerie Tan! They make bread fresh daily and sell it the same day — and it's so popular they sell out constantly!! Rather than flashy trendy pastries, they focus on doing the basics really well, which is why it's the Paju Unjeong bakery people line up for. After trying it myself, I immediately understood why it's so famous.
Where is Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch, and what is the shop like?

Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch 📍109 Chorongkkot-ro, 1st floor, Paju, Gyeonggi-do ⏰Tue–Sat 10:00–18:00 🚘Parking available in the building basement ✅Uses naturally fermented levain and organic French flour
Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch can be called the representative bakery of Paju's Unjeong neighborhood. They make slow, wholesome bread using a self-cultivated natural levain fermented at low temperature for over 14 hours. They've become so famous as an Unjeong bakery that they even opened a location in Hyundai Department Store's Kintex branch!

The store itself is a cozy size, with a variety of breads lined up on display. There's no seating inside — it's a Paju neighborhood bakery for takeout and delivery only.

Since they only use organic French flour, the most basic breads — ciabatta, baguette, salt bread — are the ones they're most famous for. No measuring agents, emulsifiers, preservatives, or artificial colors, so it tastes best eaten the same day.

Behind the counter, the staff were busy at work making bread. The baking area was bigger than the display counter itself, which instantly told me how serious they are about making proper bread.
Baguette, ciabatta and salt bread: why Boulangerie Tan's basics stand out

If you love the pure flavor of basic bread — baguette, ciabatta, salt bread — go try Boulangerie Tan's baguette right now! I'm a self-proclaimed (and universally acknowledged) bread lover with very high standards, especially for basic breads, and I'd say the baguette here is hard for any other bakery to beat.

The prices don't feel expensive compared to other bakeries and franchise chains — actually, they feel quite reasonable. If you buy 3 salt breads, they give you 1 extra gourmet butter salt bread for free, so make sure to pick 3 salt breads!😄

Since it's slow bread made with natural levain, it digests easily, and it has a nutty flavor with just the right amount of levain tang — the nickname 'our neighborhood European bakery' really suits this place.

Brunch time at Boulangerie Tan: sandwich and coffee discount, 10:00–14:00
They also sell coffee and drinks, and 📌 from 10am to 2pm is brunch time — if you buy a sandwich and coffee together, you get a discount, so keep that in mind!

How to store leftover bread: freeze, then 5 minutes at 180°C in an air fryer
Boulangerie Tan's breads use little egg, butter, or sugar, so same-day eating is best. ✅ If you're coming from far away and buying a lot, freeze it and just run it through the air fryer at 180°C for 5 minutes — it comes back crispy outside, soft inside, and really delicious. (This is my personal tip!)

They pack the baguettes and breads neatly into paper bags, just like a European bakery, which made me unreasonably happy.

📌 Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch sells deeply flavorful bread made with healthy ingredients and an honest process. If you're looking for a proper neighborhood bakery in Unjeong, you really must visit Boulangerie Tan.
