Sangsangcheom, the hot pot spot in Songdo Triple Street. I was wandering around Songdo Triple Street for a change of pace! Between shopping and walking, I got hungry before I knew it - and while looking for a hot pot restaurant in Songdo, I found Sangsangcheom Triple Street Branch! Today's post covers everything from the menu to my visit review of this Songdo Triple Street hot pot spot.

Where is Sangsangcheom, and where do you park at Songdo Triple Street?

Sangsangcheom is located on the 1st floor of Building D, Songdo Triple Street. It's about a 700m walk from Exit 2 of Songdo Techno Park Station, so it's easy to reach by public transit, and Triple Street parking is free for up to 5 hours a day, so you can eat leisurely and still have plenty of time to shop :)

Spacious high-ceilinged interior of Sangsangcheom

When I opened the door and walked in, I was surprised by how spacious and pleasant the interior was! The high ceilings gave it an open feel, and thanks to the roomy layout, even though it's an all-you-can-eat place, you can eat at a relaxed pace, which I liked.

On one side there's the table area, and next to it is a sauce bar and self-bar with all kinds of toppings. With plenty of space and wide tables, this place is more than suitable for group gatherings or family meals!

Sangsangcheom is a hot pot all-you-can-eat spot, and weekday lunch prices differ from weekday dinner/weekend prices. Weekday lunch lets you enjoy all-you-can-eat hot pot for 25,900 won, and it's much cheaper for elementary and preschool kids!

You choose your broth on the kiosk at the table, and half-and-half is possible, which was great! From the essence of hot pot, mala, to beef bone, tomato, mushroom, cheongyang chili, and more - there's a wide range from mild to spicy versions, so the upside is you can pick according to your taste 👍

And the meat is unlimited too 🥹 There's lamb shoulder, beef brisket, and beef chuck, and you just order as much as you want. You can keep refilling meat as you order more, but if you leave too much food uneaten, an environmental fee kicks in, so I'd recommend ordering small portions at a time :)

Sangsangcheom's time limit information sign

The time limit is 80 minutes for weekday lunch, and 100 minutes for evenings, weekends, and holidays! I tend to eat pretty slowly, but 80 minutes was plenty of time :)

What's on the self-bar: Sichuan skewers (mala chuan) and the sauce bar

Then I headed straight to the self-bar! There are dozens of different ingredients ready to go, so it's fun picking and choosing. There are way more topping options than a mala tang shop, and more variety than a shabu-shabu place!

But what really sets Sangsangcheom apart is the all-you-can-eat Sichuan skewers, mala chuan! These are skewers with mala-flavored meat wrapped in vegetables, completely authentic Chinese-style skewers, and honestly they're easy to eat and quite a treat - there are lots of varieties, so pick whatever suits your taste!

You can enjoy unlimited meat, but there's also a pretty wide variety of seafood! Crab, scallops, squid rolls, shrimp, and more - you could basically make a seafood shabu-shabu with this!

There's a wide variety of vegetables too, so vegetable lovers will be thrilled just thinking about eating here 🎶

And of course hot pot needs sauce! You can mix your own to taste, but if you're not confident, just ask the staff and they'll make you a delicious one - which is actually even better, right?

DIY hot pot sauce bar

And no hot pot meal is complete without guobaorou (sweet and sour crispy pork) 🩷 Whenever I go to a mala tang place I always order guobaorou, and here I ate as much as I wanted, haha.

Eating the mala and mushroom half-and-half broth at Sangsangcheom

We wanted both spicy and mild, so we ordered mala and mushroom! The meat came out neatly arranged too, which looked great 👏

Mala and mushroom half-and-half broth with unlimited meat

We put the vegetables and toppings we'd carefully piled up from the self-bar into the boiling broth -

Adding vegetables and toppings into the boiling half-and-half broth
Toppings boiling in the mala red broth

The mala broth was really fiery and intensely spicy, by a spice-wimp's standard!!! The sharp, hot mala aroma hit with a real punch, so if you're not good with spice, I'd recommend dipping generously in the savory peanut sauce at the sauce bar or eating it with plenty of vegetables and meat.

But honestly, spicy as it was, it's an addictive flavor, so I couldn't put my chopsticks down 🤣

Mellow and savory mushroom broth hot pot

The mushroom broth was mellow and savory, perfect for soothing a tongue gone numb from the spicy red broth! This is exactly why ordering half-and-half is such a good idea 😉

Guobaorou eaten alongside the hot pot

In between, the guobaorou calmed things down too - the sweet and tangy special sauce was coated well on the surface, so delicious! Especially when eating mala hot pot, it's the perfect partner ❤️

Ice cream eaten to finish the meal

To finish the meal, we had some cool, sweet ice cream 🍦 Ending a numb, spicy meal with cool, sweet ice cream made for the perfect full-course meal 👍 If you're looking for a good restaurant in Songdo Triple Street, give Sangsangcheom a try :)
