Pangyo Station Korean restaurant, brassware hotpot for two: Useum
In short
Useum Pangyo Branch is a Korean beef suyuk (boiled beef) and gomtang (beef bone broth) restaurant a 2-minute walk from Exit 1 of Pangyo Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. Two people shared the 45,000 won gogani-suji hotpot (beef knee cartilage and tendon), with every side dish served in brassware and a mild, clean seasoning that felt close to health food. Between the wide main hall, curtained private rooms and a glass-walled terrace, Useum Pangyo Branch works for both a weekday lunch and an evening with drinks.

What kind of restaurant is Useum Pangyo Branch?
A 2-minute walk from Pangyo Station, this is a place that opens your day with a hearty bowl of gomtang (bone broth soup) at lunch, then transforms into a private Korean beef suyuk (boiled beef) restaurant as the lights dim in the evening!
There's also Useum Gwanghwamun and Useum Nonhyeon, but today I'm introducing the Pangyo Station spot — 'Useum Pangyo Branch.' Built on 38 years of expertise in sourcing ingredients, this restaurant brings ingredients straight from their origin and a natural broth simmered for over 8 hours, carrying on the hand-made taste of a third-generation kitchen. This is my firsthand review of experiencing that deep, rich broth flavor without a trace of MSG. Please read to the end of my Useum Pangyo review.

The exterior and main hall atmosphere
Located near Pangyo Station, Useum Pangyo Branch first catches your eye with its wide glass-walled exterior. A banner announcing a completed renovation and a fresh new look was hanging outside. Even people who've visited before should be able to enjoy a new experience. The outdoor terrace space extends right along the front of the restaurant, so it stands out even if you're just walking by.

Inside, wood-toned tables and chairs create a comfortable atmosphere in a spacious main hall. The high ceilings keep it from feeling cramped, and the good natural light makes a daytime visit feel especially bright and cozy. Each table has a tablet ordering system, which made ordering easy and convenient.

Every table also comes set with tissues and seasonings like perilla seed powder.
Private rooms for groups

The separate private rooms are fully closed off from neighboring tables by curtains, making for a great private dining space. The soft lighting and lattice-patterned window frames gave off a hanok-like yet upscale feeling — perfect for a family gathering, bringing your parents, or a group dinner. Also a great option for anyone looking for a private-room restaurant in Pangyo.
Outdoor terrace seats

On one side of the restaurant, the glass-enclosed outdoor terrace seating also had great atmosphere. It's a space where you can relax and enjoy your meal while looking out over the Pangyo Station area, so a visit on a nice day could make for a really special meal. Useum Pangyo's atmosphere was so good it made me want to check out Useum Gwanghwamun and Useum Nonhyeon too.

The 45,000 won gogani-suji hotpot, set for two
We ordered the gogani-suji hotpot for ₩45,000 — gogani, suji, milky broth, and mushrooms — for a total of ₩45,000 for two. I was impressed the moment the food arrived. The table setup was exactly my style — the hotpot, side dishes, small plates, and spoons all neatly arranged.
What the brassware side dishes were like

All the side dish bowls were made of yugi (traditional Korean brassware), which gave the whole meal a premium first impression. I really appreciated that they weren't plastic bowls, haha. Serving healthy food in healthy dishware felt like the perfect finishing touch. Braised potatoes, dried radish strips, napa cabbage kimchi, cubed radish kimchi, roasted seaweed, and soy sauce were all arranged neatly and beautifully. My expectations were already rising before the main dish even arrived.
How did the gogani-suji hotpot taste?

In a word, the gogani-suji hotpot is health food itself! Even though this is eating out, it's actually the kind of dish that's harder to make at home — it takes so much effort. But eating the gogani-suji hotpot at Useum Pangyo Branch, a favorite spot near Pangyo Station, really felt like eating proper health food, and like being taken care of. The seasoning wasn't heavy at all, so it paired really well with the side dishes.

The gogani, suji, milky broth, and the mushrooms and water dropwort piled on top felt clean, with nothing unnecessary about it! They told us it's a natural broth made without MSG, and honestly, it really tasted like it! You have to try it to understand, haha.
The portion was plenty for two, and because the meat used was Korean beef, you could really taste the nutty flavor and tender texture.
Because it's Korean beef, the meat was really, really tender and melted in your mouth. It wasn't chewy at all! The seasoning was also mild and not too strong, which I actually liked even more.
I was so satisfied with Useum Pangyo Branch! Now I'm even curious about the other locations, Useum Gwanghwamun and Useum Nonhyeon. I'd recommend this place to anyone focused on eating healthy, or anyone craving a nourishing meal.
