We went on a weekend and there were way more people than I expected?! I guess this place is a known spot for anyone hunting down Pyeongtaek restaurants haha. There was already a wait when we arrived!

What comes in the 52,000-won two-person cockle set?

The set comes packed with a solid lineup — seasoned cockles (medium) + 3 cockle pancakes + 1 cockle bibimbap — which was just right for two people ✨ Getting to eat cockles prepared in several different ways, from seasoned cockles to cockle pancake to cockle bibimbap, was so much more fun than just ordering one dish haha.

Side dishes: tofu kimchi, white kimchi and seasoned garlic scapes

The side dishes that came along were tofu kimchi, white kimchi, garlic scape muchim, and more — overall they were sides that went really well with the cockle bibimbap!

The odeng (fish cake) broth simmering in the middle of the table

I especially loved the combo of picking at these side dishes one by one and eating a spoonful of bibimbap in between 😋 And there was one subtle kick I noticed here! It's the odeng (fish cake) broth simmering right in the middle of the table 🍢

You know how the seasoning on cockle bibimbap can sometimes make your throat feel a bit tight? Whenever that happened, a spoonful of the hot odeng broth cleared my mouth right up and warmed me from the inside — I loved it!

Even though I was already pretty full, one sip of that hot broth and somehow another spoonful of bibimbap went in lol 🤣 I kept saying I was full while still eating...

Were the cockles gritty? Texture and cleaning

One thing that low-key worries me when eating cockles is sometimes biting into grit 🥲 But the cockles I had here had none of that — the meat was plump and the texture was great!

Eaten together with the seasoning, the savoriness stacked up too! They just went down one after another 🤤 As someone who loves cockles, it was a really satisfying meal!

Worth it when you want something different on Manse-ro in Pyeongtaek

There are so many good restaurants on Manse-ro that I usually end up eating meat, stew, or noodles, so this feels like a great pick for a day when you're craving something a bit different, like I was!

Since there's enough of a wait on weekends, I'd recommend heading over with some extra time to spare if you're planning to visit 🫶🏻 If you want to properly enjoy cockle dishes in Pyeongtaek, Kkomak Manse Pyeongtaek Manse-ro Main Branch in Jukbaek-dong is well worth a try!
