Red curry chicken rice lunch near Yeouinaru Station: Jeongyun Kitchen

Today I was again wondering what delicious lunch to have, and I kept hearing from people around me that Jeongyun Kitchen was really good!! So I decided to give it a try.

Where is Jeongyun Kitchen? 1 minute from Yeouinaru Station, 3 from The Hyundai

Jeongyun Kitchen is just 1 minute from Yeouinaru Station! It's super close to the Han River, so it seems perfect to visit after a walk in the park haha. It's also close to The Hyundai (about 3 minutes?). Since The Hyundai can get pretty pricey, if you're looking for an Asian food spot nearby that's also great value, this place is perfect haha.

Jeongyun Kitchen is on the 2nd floor! Go up to the 2nd floor and turn left, and this cute Jeongyun Kitchen shows up haha.

Is there a wait at Jeongyun Kitchen? The last table at 11:30am on a weekday

You can join the waitlist through Catch Table! We visited on a weekday at 11:30am, and we were literally the last table seated! Since there are a lot of offices nearby, lunchtime gets a bit crowded, so I'd recommend coming a little earlier or later.

Inside Jeongyun Kitchen: an interior that works for a date

Walking inside, there were these lovely, emotive posters of delicious-looking food hanging on the walls hahaha.

Isn't the interior so cute!! It's really great for a date! I think the owner has really good taste — from the tables to the posters, chairs, and even the dishes, everything felt so stylishly designed.

The lights are so pretty too haha.

Ordering by tableside kiosk: both chicken rice dishes 16,000 won

You can order through the kiosk at your table! When you come during lunch hour, it's so crowded that even ordering can be a hassle, right? But since there's a kiosk at every table here, it's super convenient!!!

We ordered one red curry chicken rice and one char siu chicken rice.

Both were 16,000 won, which is totally great value for this area!

The spoon and chopsticks are so cute too haha.

Red curry chicken rice: thin, spice-heavy and Southeast Asian in style

Even though the place was packed, the food came out surprisingly fast!! Less than 10 minutes after ordering, it was ready — this is the red curry chicken rice I ordered.

I was so surprised at how pretty the food looked haha. The plating was so unique! It was loaded with potatoes, chicken cutlet, and aromatic rice!

The curry tasted totally different from what I usually have! It wasn't like the curry you eat in Korea — it felt more like Southeast Asian curry! It wasn't thick, it was a bit thin, and with the spice notes in it, the flavor felt so much richer!

Just note how thin it is! Isn't it so interesting?

Scooping up rice with the curry and topping it with the well-cooked chicken... wow, it was really so delicious!! It didn't feel like eating curry — it felt like eating really tasty Southeast Asian food! The flavor was so rich, and especially the chicken was so thoroughly cooked that the soft, tender texture was really great!!

This is the chicken cutlet! It was also cooked perfectly, and the fry was crispy — totally delicious!!!

So good, seriously... Everyone who likes Asian food!!!! You have to go to Jeongyun Kitchen.

How was the char siu chicken rice at Jeongyun Kitchen?

This is the chicken rice my friend ordered!! Seeing this made me want to order it myself next time hahaha. The vegetables came out perfectly cooked, and above all, the meat — coated so well in the sauce — was really delicious!!

This one was also perfectly cooked through, with such a tender, soft texture... Honestly, I'd call this the number one Asian food spot in Yeouido!!!

I need to go often before it gets even more famous.
