BBQ for two near Sunae Station: 480g black pork, Jeju Monteurak
In short
Jeju Monteurak Bundang Sunae Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Sunae Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, where staff grill Jeju black pork belly and shoulder at your table. Two sisters shared the Jeju Bansang set at 69,000 won (300g belly plus 180g shoulder, 480g total), chose the seafood doenjang jjigae (fermented soybean paste stew) and finished a firmly packed bowl of rice. The portion was just right for two, and the black pork tasted like the version eaten in Jeju itself.

My sister said she wanted meat, so I went looking for a good BBQ spot. While we were debating where to go, I remembered the black pork we'd eaten in Jeju and started searching for a place that could really deliver that flavor — that's how I ended up at Jeju Monteurak. I like meat pretty much in general, so I went in with high expectations :)

What side dishes come with the meal?
Since we'd reserved a table, everything was already set up when we arrived, and the side dishes and accompaniments were a solid, well-matched lineup for meat: bracken fern, lettuce, scallion salad, wasabi, salt, salted shrimp, jeotgal (salted seafood), pickled garlic scapes, wild garlic leaves, and baek-kimchi (white kimchi).

What's in the 69,000 won Jeju Bansang set for two?
We ordered the Jeju Bansang set for ₩69,000 and one extra bowl of rice for ₩1,000. The Jeju Bansang is a set recommended for two, with black pork belly, black pork shoulder, and a stew — you can choose between Jeju pork kimchi jjigae or seafood doenjang jjigae.

There's a wide variety of meal options, and many of them carry that distinct Jeju flavor.

The meat came out first — black pork belly 300g plus black pork shoulder 180g, 480g total!!

🫨 The color on this meat is amazing 🫨

The ratio of lean meat to fat looked just right, and the outside looked so moist.

Staff grill the black pork belly, asparagus included
At Jeju Monteurak Bundang Sunae Branch, the staff watched over the meat from start to finish—

— and grilled asparagus and king oyster mushrooms alongside it too.

Seafood doenjang jjigae with shrimp and scallops
While the staff grilled the meat beautifully, the doenjang jjigae arrived bubbling away. My sister is firmly team stew-with-lettuce-wraps whenever we eat meat.

You could see the scallop, and the tofu was cut into big chunks, which made it look even more appetizing~!

There was also a whole shrimp in there, and since my sister let me have it, I peeled it and ate it — plump, moist, and with a satisfying snap of texture 😋 it was really delicious 😋

I mixed rice into the doenjang jjigae broth and mashed in the big chunk of tofu, and the rice just disappeared. I was honestly shocked by how much rice they gave us here — it was packed in so tight, an enormous portion.

It tasted enough like the black pork we had in Jeju that it brought back memories. I was satisfied being able to taste that local flavor without actually having to go to Jeju.

Nicely grilled belly pieces >< is my sister making me a wrap?!

I thought she was handing it to me to eat, but she just wanted me to take a photo. Haha. As soon as I snapped the shot, she popped it straight into her own mouth ㅡ.ㅡ

The king oyster mushrooms were grilled golden brown and delicious alongside the meat, and disappeared in no time —

Pork shoulder next: is 480g enough for two?
Next up was the pork shoulder.

🤤🤤

Thanks to the shoulder being cut into big chunks, every bite was packed with juice. The two of us got exactly full and satisfied — perfect on both portion and taste.

Third prize in the receipt-review draw
There was a Naver receipt-review event with a prize draw, and my sister won — get this — third prize!!!! It was such a jackpot moment ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ We both were shocked to receive moist Jeju black pork jerky and 5,000 Monteurak points. If you're ever in Bundang craving delicious Jeju black pork, definitely stop by *^^*
