When I came to Suwon, I was looking for somewhere to work for a little while, and I had such a great stay at Hongrad Suwon Station Branch, a fantastic dessert café near Suwon Station!!

Hongrad Suwon Station Branch, an easy walk from Suwon Station
Hongrad Suwon Station Branch is easy to reach on foot from Suwon Station and sits right in front of Suwon Tax Office! Maybe that is why there were lots of law-related businesses nearby, haha. But there is also a Starfield nearby, and it is close to Haenggung-dong, so it is great for enjoying a café after a good meal~

Hongrad is a Suwon café with five locations in Suwon alone.

Retro vibes from the entrance onward
But the vibe was already so good from the entrance...!!

There are posters with an American feel, haha. Maybe from around the 1970s or 1980s? Right by the entrance, there is a camcorder and mini TV that make for a fun photo spot too~

The inside is hip too~ I guess I really like this kind of interior, hahaha. All the little objects hanging on the walls are cool as well! There are square tables for three or more people, plus cozy round tables for two.

Beyond the screen by the entrance, you can take in the retro vibe through a laptop too, haha.

There were blankets beside it, but the weather was still hot, so I did not use one.

Near the counter, there was a spot selling little items. They were not that expensive (many of the things I saw were under ₩5,000!), so they would make nice souvenirs to take home.

Toast and brownies served with ice cream
Now, time to choose the menu~ An iced café latte topped with ice cream sounded tempting too, but since the dessert toast came with ice cream, I ordered Ex-Boyfriend Toast, Hongrad Brownie, and Bear Matcha Schupener~

There were various notices too, and they said they would give out pin badges of cats or dogs raised by the staff, so I quickly brought over my receipt, hahaha.

Thoughtful amenities that made working comfortable
As I headed back to my seat, I had not realized at first that this was the bathroom entrance...!! Even inside, the retro atmosphere was going strong.

Hongrad Suwon Station Branch felt considerate in the little details. Water sounds play continuously in the bathroom to cover embarrassing noises, and there are notices about feminine products, hair ties, bandages, and more.

There is even a charging station, straws, tissues, wet wipes, water, paper cups, and hand cream, so anyone who needs them can use them comfortably!

After a short wait, our order came right out!

Hongrad Brownie
First, the Hongrad Brownie~ It is topped with vanilla ice cream. With banana, blueberries, preserved cherries, and powdered sugar too, it is a full sugar recharge, hahaha.

The refreshing ice cream goes so well with the chewy brownie! It tastes good separately, but of course you have to eat them together, haha. The brownie has chocolate chips throughout, so the occasional bite of one is the perfect kick amid that chewy texture. Chocolate lovers, I recommend this one~~

Ex-Boyfriend Toast and Bear Matcha Schupener
Next was the Ex-Boyfriend Toast! I never made this viral SNS toast even when it was all the rage... It has cream cheese inside and is topped with blueberry jam and vanilla ice cream~ I think it is the same ice cream as the brownie, but it was fascinating how differently the combination came across.
Next, Bear Matcha Schupener~ It is a sweet matcha drink without any bitterness! The cream on top is nicely thick too, and its clean flavor refreshed my mouth after all the sweetness from the Ex-Boyfriend Toast and Hongrad Brownie.
((I am on a tour of great dessert spots... haha))

After eating and working away, it was dark outside before I knew it~ I also took a photo with the cute Koo pin badge I received for leaving a receipt review. My Suwon Haenggung-dong café and dessert-spot exploration was a success, haha.
A dessert café found only in Suwon
When I go somewhere other than near home, I tend to seek out things available only in that area. I came here without knowing, but I loved that it is a café found only in Suwon—and near Suwon Haenggung-dong and Suwon Station, both great places to hang out. I was even more satisfied because it is such a good dessert spot!! This was Hongrad, a café where you can pick up cute animal pin badges too, haha.
