Yangju study café with brownie ice cream and a no-kids zone: Moonbird
In short
Moonbird is a large bakery café with a lawn garden in Goeup-dong, Yangju, Gyeonggi. On a visit at 2pm on a weekend, the order was a café latte, a vanilla bean latte, and real brownie ice cream, and Moonbird's seating is split into separate zones, so laptop users in the no-kids zone and children playing on the lawn never got in each other's way. The contrast between the warm brownie and the cold ice cream was the most memorable part of the visit.

Moonbird is a famous large café and dessert spot in Yangju known for its spacious lawn garden where kids can run around — I visited and came away pretty satisfied overall, so let me walk you through it in detail!

Where is Moonbird, and what are its hours and weekend parking like?

Moonbird's parking lot is right beside the café! Visiting at 2pm on a weekend, spots were a bit short though.
How is seating at Moonbird divided?

The inside of the café is split into several spaces, so it was nice being able to pick a seat that matched the vibe I wanted!

Sometimes when you stay a long time at a café, tight seating gaps get uncomfortable, but here it felt relatively spacious to use!

And one section is a no-kids-zone, so a lot of people were studying there haha
There's also group seating for several people at once, which looked great for friends or families with a bigger headcount!

The outdoor lawn garden at Moonbird
Another thing that makes Moonbird stand out is that it has an outdoor space! Drinking indoors is nice too, but on a good-weather day it'd be great to spend time outside haha
There's a lawn outside where kids can run around, plus seating, so you can enjoy the café in a totally different mood from indoors.
Moonbird's drink and bakery menu

Moonbird's menu, the famous large-café dessert spot in Yangju, has all kinds of drinks — coffee, lattes, ades, and more!

With so many drink options, it seems like a good place for everyone to pick something that suits their taste.

The bakery lineup was varied too — salt bread, mont blanc, croissants, and more!

Overall the visuals and quality looked great, so it was hard to choose haha

Especially the cakes — the variety was bigger than at other cafés, and they even had whole cakes!
What we ordered at Moonbird: café latte, vanilla bean latte, real brownie ice cream

This time I ordered a café latte and a vanilla bean latte, and picked the real brownie ice cream to go along with them!
Café latte at Moonbird
The café latte looked smooth even before tasting it, and once I drank it, the nutty, gentle flavor of the milk hit first! The coffee's bitter depth blended in with the milk, making it easy to drink without feeling heavy haha
It had that signature smooth latte taste, so it paired well with sweet desserts! Especially after a bite of the real brownie ice cream, a sip of latte let the coffee's nutty flavor rein in the brownie's rich sweetness — a great combo.

Vanilla bean latte at Moonbird
The vanilla bean latte would suit people who like sweeter flavors than the café latte! The coffee's depth was joined by vanilla's sweet, subtle aroma, giving it a bit more of a dessert-like feel than a regular latte haha

That said, it's not a style where only sweetness dominates — the coffee's flavor still comes through, making it nice to sip slowly. The vanilla aroma lingers subtly, so if you usually like sweet lattes, this should suit your taste!

Real brownie ice cream at Moonbird
The menu I was most looking forward to this time was the real brownie ice cream! Just from the visuals it looked like a properly sweet dessert.

Tasting the brownie first, I got that rich, heavy chocolate flavor! Eaten alone the brownie tastes intensely of chocolate, but paired with the cold ice cream, the flavor got a lot smoother.

It's a combo of warm, rich brownie and cold, soft ice cream, so eating them together in one bite made for a fun texture contrast haha The brownie's chewy, dense texture blended naturally in the mouth with the ice cream's smoothness!
