At Geurine Oasis the lake view, the space and the pretty reusable cup stayed with her more than the coffee itself.

View of Geurine Oasis in front of Gomori Reservoir, Pocheon

There are honestly so many pretty cafés around Pocheon, near Cheorwon. But this particular place I went with my husband and baby caught me off guard the moment we arrived — like, "wait, does this feel kind of like Seoul?" haha

This is Geurine Oasis, a large bakery café in Pocheon right in front of Gomori Reservoir. The building itself is pretty big, with a main building, an annex, and outdoor space, and best of all, the lake view is so refreshing. Good for going with a baby, and dogs are welcome too, so if you're looking for a café to stop by during a family trip to Pocheon, keep reading!

There's parking for about 20 cars in front of the building, and if it's full, there's apparently a public lot about a minute away by car! In Pocheon you're often getting around by car, so having plenty of parking actually matters a lot haha. Since we came with our baby, it was really convenient to park and walk straight in.

How big is Geurine Oasis, and what does the interior look like?

Geurine Oasis wasn't your typical giant café that's all seats and no character. Even the exterior has a slightly exotic vibe, and stepping inside, the interior clearly got some real thought.

Honestly my first thought was, "this is Pocheon but it feels like some hot-spot café near Seoul" haha. There are plenty of photo-worthy spots throughout, and sitting on the side facing the lake really elevates the mood! Total travel-vibes overload lol. Beyond the main building, there's also the annex and outdoor space, so the feel changes a bit depending on where you sit.

Open view of Gomori Reservoir in front of the café

The Gomori Reservoir view from Geurine Oasis

And what I liked most about Geurine Oasis was, without question, the view. Gomori Reservoir sits right in front of the café, so the sightline opens up completely.

Sitting with a coffee in hand, staring out at the lake, it felt like a proper outing even though I'd just come to a café in Pocheon. So for me, this is less a spot you visit purely for coffee, and more one worth building into a Pocheon travel itinerary!

It'd be great as a last stop after a date or family outing around Gwangneung Arboretum. Especially on a nice day, you really need to enjoy the outdoor space too!! Perfect for this kind of weather...

What we ordered: iced americano, vanilla bean latte and salt bread

What we ordered that day: iced americano ₩7,000, iced vanilla bean latte ₩8,000, and soft salt bread ₩4,800!

How the coffee and soft salt bread tasted

The coffee, to me, was decent enough. Not quite "I absolutely have to come back for this coffee" territory, but not disappointing either — a fine, easy drink. The iced vanilla bean latte was also nicely sweet and easy to drink.

The salt bread wasn't bad either. The bakery bakes and sells everything in-house, and besides salt bread there's a pretty wide range including scones, bagels, croissants and more! haha, just so you know. So if you love bread, ordering a drink plus a bakery item together seems like a good plan.

Personally, I think this is less a café you go to purely for the coffee, and more a place to enjoy the view, the space, the bakery and the atmosphere all together!

The reusable cup at Geurine Oasis is the real highlight

And there was something I hadn't expected but ended up quite liking. The reusable cup. The cup our drinks came in was just too pretty to throw away haha.

The design matched the whole Geurine Oasis vibe well and the cup itself is quite pretty, so I thought "it'd be a shame to toss this." So I ended up bringing it home haha. Planning to wash it thoroughly and reuse it. Usually after visiting a big café you just take a few photos and that's it, but having something worth bringing home and reusing felt kind of nice.

Spacious café seating with a baby

Is Geurine Oasis easy to visit with a baby?

We visited that day with my husband and our baby. Geurine Oasis is a large café, so the space itself is generous, and there's a baby chair ready to go.

When you go to a café with a baby, having plenty of space matters way more than just looking pretty. So rather than just a couples' date café, this is also a solid option for a family stopping by on a Pocheon outing with a baby!

Dogs are welcome in the indoor annex at Geurine Oasis

And this is something I naturally noticed since I have a dog haha. Geurine Oasis is a dog-friendly café in Pocheon. It's not just the outdoor terrace that allows dogs — per the current in-store signage, there's a separate indoor annex where pets are welcome, and there's also a small dog run outside.

It's not exactly a huge dog run, but it looked decent enough for letting your dog move around a bit while you're at the café. So I thought it'd be nice to bring our dogs next time.

Outdoor fire-gazing area at Geurine Oasis

Fire-gazing outdoors on a nice day

Another unusual thing here: there's a fire-gazing (bulmeong) experience. According to the store's signage, you can enjoy fire-gazing outdoors mainly in spring, fall, and winter. That said, availability can change depending on the weather and season, so if you're visiting specifically for the fire-gazing, it's best to check ahead.

Doing fire-gazing in front of the lake view definitely feels more like a unique Pocheon date spot than just a regular café. I'd love to come back next time when it's a bit cooler and sit outside for a while.

A Pocheon café to stop at after Gwangneung Arboretum

Given its location, I imagine a lot of people searching for a Pocheon Gwangneung Arboretum café will find this useful too. Pairing a drive around Gwangneung Arboretum or Gomori with a meal and then this café makes for an easy day trip, and it's an easy area to reach from Seoul too, so it works well as a date course.

Especially since you get the Gomori Reservoir scenery too, rather than just checking off one café, it might be worth building a Pocheon itinerary like Gomori → Gwangneung Arboretum → Geurine Oasis! haha

Final verdict: Geurine Oasis is about the space more than the coffee

To sum up, I enjoyed the coffee and salt bread just fine that day, but Geurine Oasis is a place I'll remember more for its space than its food. Great lake view, pretty interior, easy to visit with a baby since it's such a large café, dog-friendly with even a little dog run. And on top of that, a pretty reusable cup haha.

Personally, I was like, "Pocheon has a café with this kind of vibe?" I'd recommend it less as a destination for coffee alone, and more for people looking for a large Pocheon bakery café, a café near Gwangneung Arboretum, or a dog-friendly café in Pocheon, who just want to relax in a pretty space.
