Namdong sandwich brunch with avocado and arugula: Withwich

In short

Withwich is a sandwich and brunch restaurant in Namdong, Incheon, near Guwol Asiad Athletes' Village. On a Sunday afternoon, I had an avocado arugula sandwich combo for 16,700 won and arugula ricotta cheese pizza for 22,600 won, both generously packed with vegetables. Verdict: a satisfying but not heavy weekend brunch stop.

Whenever the weekend afternoon rolls around, I find myself craving something lighter, like a sandwich or brunch, rather than anything too heavy. So this time, I went to Withwich in Guwol-dong, Incheon, which I’d been wanting to visit for ages!

Visit to Withwich in Guwol-dong, Incheon

It’s already so well known around Guwol Asiad Athletes’ Village for sandwiches and brunch that I’d often heard there could be a wait on weekends. I visited alone on Sunday afternoon, and sure enough, the restaurant was really full. Still, it was spacious enough that having brunch alone didn’t feel awkward at all, and everything I ordered was completely my kind of food... 🤍

Where to find Withwich by the Guwol Asiad Athletes’ Village roundabout

Withwich by the Guwol Athletes' Village roundabout

Withwich is on the first floor of The Blue City building near the Guwol Athletes’ Village roundabout. You can spot it right away from across the crosswalk, so I don’t think first-time visitors will have trouble finding it.

It’s on the corner of the building, so the light coming through the floor-to-ceiling windows is lovely—and honestly, the location is great haha. If you’re driving, you can use the commercial parking area on B2 of The Blue City!

A spacious dining room that didn’t feel cramped despite the crowd

Once I stepped inside, the restaurant was much bigger than I expected. It was packed on Sunday afternoon, but one side has floor-to-ceiling windows and plenty of natural light, so the whole space still felt bright!

There were all kinds of seats, from tables for two to four by the windows to spots for larger groups. The window curtains and wood-toned furniture came together to create exactly that proper brunch-outing atmosphere 🌿

How to order at Withwich and its set menus

You order from the kiosk inside. There are sandwiches à la carte as well as combo sets that come with an Americano. They also have a brunch set for two and pasta-plus-pizza sets, so it seemed great whether you come alone or with a group and order a few things to share.

A varied menu, from sandwiches to pasta and pizza

Sandwich and pizza menu selection

Withwich isn’t just about sandwiches—it has a pretty varied menu including pasta, wood-fired pizza, and salads. There were honestly more choices than I expected, so I quietly agonized over what to get haha. I was craving a sandwich most that day, so I chose avocado arugula, but the pizza looked so good that I ended up ordering one too 🤍

I chose the avocado arugula sandwich combo and the arugula ricotta cheese pizza (₩22,600)! The sandwich combo starts at ₩13,900, and switching to avocado arugula added ₩2,800, bringing it to ₩16,700. I chose the nutty coffee beans for my coffee ☕️

There was also a separate area with water, pickled radish, and any utensils you might need.

A brunch spread that looked just right from the start 🤍

When the food came out, I put everything together at once—and isn’t it just so pretty... 🥹

Even though the sandwich came cut in half, it was absolutely stuffed with fillings and had such a presence. The pizza was topped with vivid green arugula, ricotta, and cherry tomatoes, which is exactly the look I love.

And the sandwich was seriously so thick... You can tell even in the photos, right? 😂 It was layered generously with avocado, arugula, ham, and vegetables like tomato and onion.

I’ve had quite a lot of sandwiches, but I think this was the first time I’d seen one filled this generously. Taking it in one bite was practically impossible—you had to hold it firmly with both hands—and just looking at one half felt really filling.

Especially on a weekend afternoon, I tend to crave a sandwich like this rather than something overly oily or heavy. I liked it even more because the seasoning wasn’t too strong or overly intense. With so many vegetables, it was easy to enjoy right to the end without feeling weighed down :)

The arugula ricotta cheese pizza I ordered alongside it was also so pretty. It was piled high with arugula, with ricotta and cherry tomatoes dotted here and there—its colors alone were totally my style 🤍

The arugula aroma came through nicely with every slice. I worried that ordering pizza along with a sandwich might be too filling or heavy, but since both had lots of vegetables, it was lighter to eat than I expected.

Withwich is a place I’ll think of again for weekend brunch

I’d been curious about Withwich in Guwol-dong for a long time, and after visiting, I could see why it had become so talked about.

I already love sandwiches, but this avocado arugula one was so generously filled that I think I’d order it again next time. I went alone and didn’t feel uncomfortable at all, and next time I’d like to come with my fiancé and try some other dishes too :)

It suited my taste really well overall, especially because I prefer sandwiches or brunch with plenty of vegetables to anything too intense 🤍 If you’re looking for a good brunch or sandwich spot near Guwol Asiad Athletes’ Village in Guwol-dong, Withwich is definitely one to keep in mind :)
