Pyeongtaek charcoal BBQ with self-bar grilled corn: Jugeokjip
In short
Jugeokjip is a charcoal Korean BBQ restaurant in Jisan-dong, Pyeongtaek, with two locations: the Pyeongtaek main store and the Jisan branch. Welcoming her husband home from a business trip, the writer ordered one serving of jugeoksal (intercostal rib meat) and two servings of pork belly, then grilled eggplant, zucchini and steamed corn from the self-serve bar over the same coals. The chewy, galbi-like jugeoksal and the charcoal-grilled corn were the combination that stayed with her.

Jugeokjip / Daily 10:00–22:00, last order 21:20
Where is Jugeokjip's Jisan branch in Pyeongtaek, and is there parking?
Jugeokjip is a charcoal BBQ restaurant on Jisan1-ro 70beon-gil in Pyeongtaek, running two locations — the Pyeongtaek main store and the Jisan branch. I visited the Jisan-dong side. Parking is available right in front of the restaurant, and there's also a public parking lot nearby, so keep that in mind!
The day my husband came back from his business trip! He told me he'd been craving meat in India but only ended up eating chicken the whole time, so we decided to go out for pork belly that weekend!!! My husband and I went to Jugeokjip, a well-known spot in Godeok, Pyeongtaek, for pork belly.
You can make a reservation ahead of time on Naver, and reserving through Naver gets you event perks and benefits, so I'd recommend it if you're visiting on a weekend or holiday! There's also a room-style dining space inside, which seems great for group visits. If you need a bigger space for a work dinner or family gathering, I'd recommend it.

How much are Jugeokjip's Chuseok holiday gift sets?
Jugeokjip was also selling holiday gift sets ahead of the upcoming Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving)! There were three kinds — a female pork gift set, an LA galbi (beef short rib) set, and a Hanwoo beef set — so it seemed like a great option for holiday gifts!
The meat itself is really fresh, so I'd recommend it for gifts to parents, VIP clients, important business partners — anyone you want to show appreciation to!
- If value and practicality matter, the female pork set is ₩69,000
- If you want to really capture the holiday mood, the premium LA galbi set is ₩130,000
- If you want to gift something special and refined, the Hanwoo beef set is ₩190,000

Free soju? Jugeokjip's unlimited soju explained
The surprising thing about Jugeokjip is that soju is free! They say you can drink 100 bottles, even 1,000 bottles — it's truly unlimited!!! Normally BBQ restaurants make a lot of their revenue from drinks, but at Jugeokjip, soju is free!!!!! If you come with family members who love to drink, you can just pay for the meat and enjoy unlimited soju — what a deal!!!! My husband and I drove that day, so we skipped the drinks...
What's on Jugeokjip's self-serve bar?

Jugeokjip has a self-serve bar, so if you're missing a side dish you can just grab it yourself — they even had eggplant and zucchini, so we grilled those on the charcoal! I love eggplant, and grilled on charcoal it was on a whole other level >ㅁ<. We also went back for more pickled onion and corn salad. Having a self-serve bar means you can eat as much as you want without feeling awkward, which I loved.

What cut is jugeoksal, Jugeokjip's signature intercostal rib meat?
Jugeokjip's own signature menu, jugeoksal! It's intercostal meat that comes from between the rib bones — only one piece per rib cage — called jugeoksal. With its rich juiciness and chewy texture, it's their signature dish, so I ordered it right away! I got one serving of jugeoksal and two servings of pork belly!! There's a discount on additional orders after the first order, which was great. The meat is affordable and the drinks are free!!

The banchan side dishes at Jugeokjip
The basic side dishes were so neatly arranged and delicious! Potato salad, macaroni salad, wild garlic leaves, meat patties, sundubu (soft tofu), seasoned chives, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), and more. If you run out, you can ask for more and they'll bring it. There were already so many kinds of side dishes that we didn't need to ask for extra, but the japchae is also available at the salad bar if you want more!!

One serving of jugeoksal and one serving of pork belly, two servings total, but after ordering it felt like it wouldn't be enough, so we added one more serving of pork belly!!

What does Jugeokjip's intercostal rib meat taste like?
I can see why the intercostal meat is Jugeokjip's signature dish! It's completely chewy and the peak of savory flavor!!!! It's not a fatty cut — it tastes more like rib meat, with the ultimate chewiness, and it's so delicious. I get why it's crowned as Jugeokjip's own signature menu — it's genuinely delicious.

Corn grilled over charcoal: the find of the night
Jugeokjip's self-serve bar has tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), soup, japchae, steamed corn, and marshmallows ready to go, and I got so into grilling the corn that I lost count of how many pieces I went back for. A total carb party!!

It was so good wrapped with lettuce, and the intercostal meat with all that juice running out! It's chewy enough that you just keep eating it haha. Addictive meat.

Everyone~~~~ try grilling corn on the charcoal, it's seriously delicious!! I don't usually eat corn much, but I tried it grilled and took a bite — genuinely so good >ㅁ<

Dessert, and would we go back to Jugeokjip?
Jugeokjip, a well-known spot in Songtan, even has dessert ready for after the meal! People were walking out eating ice cream cones as they left. The owner was really kind too — I skipped the ice cream because I was too full ㅠㅠ. I'm thinking of bringing my family here next time!!
