Pyeongtaek pork belly restaurant with thin-cut samgyeopsal: Jumulleok
In short
Pyeongtaek Jumulleok Pyeongtaek Station Branch is a Korean pork belly restaurant near Pyeongtaek Station in Gyeonggi. The order was samgyeopsal (pork belly) for two, sliced thin so it cooks in moments, plus doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), a rice ball and steamed rice, and not one of the banchan side dishes was left — bean sprout and scallion salad, soy-marinated shrimp, mayo cabbage with crab and cucumber salad. With no gamy smell on the pork and a banchan lineup this generous, Pyeongtaek Jumulleok is a meal worth returning for.

Pyeongtaek Jumulleok Pyeongtaek Station Branch was a bustling BBQ spot full of dinner-gathering customers. On the day we visited, there seemed to be a lot of group dinner parties, and the place was absolutely packed!

There were many tables of people eating meat together, so it was lively and crowded — but that atmosphere actually made it feel like an old-school local favorite.

Even with the place packed, the staff were incredibly kind, which really stuck with me. They welcomed us warmly even while busy, and it made the whole meal feel good :)
How thin is the samgyeopsal for two at Pyeongtaek Jumulleok?

- Pork belly for two
- Doenjang jjigae
- Rice ball
- Steamed rice

So it cooked really fast on the grill. I liked not having to wait long for the meat to be done.

Most of all, I'm a bit sensitive to gaminess when eating pork, and this pork belly had none of that off smell or funky taste, so I really enjoyed it.
This felt like exactly the kind of BBQ restaurant near Pyeongtaek Station I'd think of on a day I want to grill meat and eat it with rice and side dishes.

The banchan at Pyeongtaek Jumulleok Pyeongtaek Station Branch include bean sprout scallion salad, shrimp jang, mayo cabbage crab salad, cucumber salad, and lettuce. I went for the meat and ended up falling for the side dishes haha.

Bean sprout scallion salad, shrimp jang, mayo cabbage crab salad, cucumber salad — such a variety came out, along with lettuce for wrapping the meat. But seriously, every single one was delicious...?

Especially while eating meat, you crave something tangy or crunchy in between bites, and the bean sprout scallion salad and cucumber salad paired really well.

So this seems like a good pick for anyone near Pyeongtaek Station looking for a restaurant with both great meat and a varied banchan spread!
