Flying fish roe fried rice at a Gwangju jjukkumi buffet: Sin Jjukkumi
In short
Sin Jjukkumi Unlimited Refill Duam Branch is an all-you-can-eat grill buffet in Duam-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, where jjukkumi (spicy webfoot octopus), fresh pork belly and thin-sliced pork belly all share one pan. A couple chose the 23,500 won jjukkumi + fresh pork belly + thin-sliced pork belly course, added bean sprouts to tone down the heat, and finished with the free flying fish roe fried rice. Sin Jjukkumi is good value even if one person cannot eat much pork, since the jjukkumi alone fills you up.

Today my husband and I went to Sin Jjukkumi Duam Branch in Duam-dong. It's a place where you can eat unlimited pork belly, thin-sliced pork belly, and jjukkumi (spicy stir-fried webfoot octopus). They have several branches around Gwangju~!

And delicious fried rice is complimentary too!

Where is Sin Jjukkumi Duam Branch, and where do you park?
Address: 288-48 Duam-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, South Korea Hours: Tue–Sun 16:00–23:00, closed Mondays Parking: Free public lot in Duam 3-dong (2 min walk), Duam 3-dong community center lot, or nearby alleys Separate men's/women's restrooms inside, Gwangju Sangsaeng Card accepted No corkage, high chairs available
About a 10-minute drive from Dongmyeong-dong, Mudeungsan, Chungjangno-Geumnamno, Gakhwa-dong, and Gyerim-dong.

Here's the exterior of Sin Jjukkumi Duam Branch. It's on the first floor. The lot across the street belongs to another restaurant, so don't park there! I misread the sign at first and had to move my car... haha.
Inside Sin Jjukkumi Duam Branch: seating for 60

The interior seats up to 60 people and can be booked for private events. It's great for group dinners, church gatherings, or family get-togethers. Just as we were finishing up, a group of 7 came in for a dinner. The high ceilings keep it from feeling cramped, which I like.
The interior is clean, and it seems to fill up with customers after 7pm. Takeout and delivery available. Takeout — jjukkumi-pork belly set ₩16,000/serving, Sin Jjukkumi set ₩16,000/serving.

Unlimited drinks for 10,000 won and the self-serve bar
Unlimited soju and beer is ₩10,000 per person. You can also buy by the bottle. Each bottle is ₩5,000, so if you're drinking more than 2 bottles per person 😮 the unlimited option is the better deal! It's free (for 2 hours) if you sign up for Naver alerts!
The self-serve bar has lettuce wraps, bean sprouts, radish, shredded scallions, and more.

How much is the all-you-can-eat course at Sin Jjukkumi?

Jjukkumi only — ₩21,500, jjukkumi + fresh pork belly + thin pork belly — ₩23,500. Shrimp, beef large intestine, beef small intestine, and cheese cost extra.
After some thought, we decided to have pork belly too~~

We scooped this much in one go, but there was so much we couldn't finish it between the two of us haha.
Apparently it's a health food packed with taurine, which is said to be good for unsaturated fatty acids, DHA, dissolving gallstones, boosting liver detox function, lowering cholesterol, normalizing blood pressure, preventing diabetes, restoring eyesight, and relieving muscle fatigue.
The meat looked fresh~ okay, let's start grilling now.

I think jjukkumi and pork belly grilled together would taste great too~

They also give you an egg, so I ate both yolks for extra nutrients — you know, for the baby haha.
Side dishes scooped from the self-serve bar! I really liked the corn kernels haha. The grill pan is split into two sections so you can cook two things at once!
My husband gets a stomachache if he eats too much pork, so having jjukkumi as an unlimited option too was great haha. A place with both pork belly AND jjukkumi unlimited at the same time! I think this is the first one I've seen!
You can scoop out the grease that collects in the middle with tissue or a ladle.
The thin-sliced pork belly cooks first, so it quickly took the edge off our hunger. Pork and shredded scallions are truth.

How spicy is the jjukkumi, and how bean sprouts tone it down
Wrapping it like this in a lettuce leaf is great. The jjukkumi is soft and springy~ They told us to add bean sprouts to tone down the spice, so we did.
The spice level isn't super hot! Somewhere between Anseong Tangmyeon and Jin Ramen, maybe? Delicious~ It's not the smoky fire-flavor style.

We had the heat too high and ended up burning the pan ㅠㅠ had to swap it out. Watch your heat control!! High at first, then medium-low later.

There's mayonnaise too, so dipping the jjukkumi in it is tasty. Adding a bit of mayo to the fried rice is also delicious!

Last round of pork belly~ I thought we'd grabbed too much but we ended up finishing it all haha.

Finishing with the free flying fish roe fried rice
When we were almost done with the meat and jjukkumi, we left a little behind and requested the flying fish roe fried rice (free). The fried rice has flying fish roe and finely chopped kimchi in it, so it's delicious! It's unseasoned, so they say you need to stir-fry it together with the jjukkumi broth.

Eating it with meat and jjukkumi to your taste is delicious~~ The fried rice is a must!!

We scraped the pan clean~~~ Left full and satisfied~~~ In these high-inflation times, this all-you-can-eat buffet is a great value pick! Highly recommend~
