Egg cracked into spicy jjukkumi at a Gwangju BBQ buffet: Sin Jjukkumi

Today's post is about my visit to Sin Jjukkumi Unlimited Refill Duam Branch, an all-you-can-eat buffet in Duam-dong, Buk-gu.

Location and hours of Sin Jjukkumi Duam Branch

Sin Jjukkumi Duam Branch is at 4 Bamsil-ro 181beon-gil, 1st floor, Buk-gu, Gwangju, and it's open from 16:00 to 23:00. It's closed every Monday, and you can park in the alley in front of the restaurant or use the Duam 3-dong Community Center parking lot.

After work, my friend and I spent ages deciding what to eat — I was craving spicy jjukkumi, but my friend wanted meat 🤔 Looking for somewhere we could both get what we wanted, Sin Jjukkumi Duam Branch turned out to be the perfect all-you-can-eat buffet in Duam-dong, Buk-gu.

What's at the self-serve bar?

At Sin Jjukkumi Duam Branch, once you order, you just help yourself at the self-serve bar as much as you like. The jjukkumi is unlimited too, so there's no need to worry about portion size — take as much as you want 😋

Next to the jjukkumi are the fresh pork belly and shaved pork belly, and beside that there's a separate corner for vegetables and sauces.

Being the kind of all-you-can-eat buffet you'd expect in Duam-dong, Buk-gu, the self-serve bar had a good variety. Bean sprouts, scallion shreds, lettuce, perilla leaves, garlic, onion, corn kernels, even mayonnaise — all there 🥬🌽

The vibe and seating

The Sin Jjukkumi Duam Branch space was clean, and the tables were spaced comfortably apart, so it was easy to relax there. Since it was dinner time, there were quite a few families and groups 👨👩👧👦

Every table has its own grill pan, and the self-serve bar was close by, so going back and forth was easy.

Bean sprouts and perilla leaves are a must with spicy jjukkumi, so I loaded up on those, and grabbed scallion shreds to go with the pork belly too. I'd also recommend corn kernels topped with mayonnaise eaten alongside the jjukkumi 👍

Sin Jjukkumi Duam Branch is spacious with plenty of tables, so it looked like a good option for larger groups too. Since it's all-you-can-eat, you don't need to order dishes one by one — everyone just takes as much as they want, and there's an unlimited drink option per person too, so settling the bill shouldn't be complicated. If you're looking for a group dinner spot in Duam-dong, Buk-gu, this one's worth considering.

The grill pan is split in half, so you can grill jjukkumi on one side and pork belly on the other 🔥 It was nice not having to worry about ordering jjukkumi and meat separately.

How big is the jjukkumi?

Since it's all-you-can-eat, I worried the jjukkumi might be small, but once grilled, the pieces were plump and a decent size 🐙 The texture was good and the seasoning was just the right amount of spicy — I kept reaching for more.

How to eat it right

Put a perilla leaf on a piece of lettuce, top with jjukkumi, shaved pork belly, bean sprouts, and corn kernels, and make one big wrap — perfect 🥬 Partway through, I cracked an egg into the jjukkumi, which softened the spiciness quite a bit 🥚

The meat cooks fast, so you end up bringing over one more batch after another 😂 The jjukkumi is unlimited too, so whenever we ran low, we just refilled from the self-serve bar.

And here's something worth knowing! If you sign up for Naver notifications, soju and beer are unlimited for ₩10,000 per person 🍺 If you like to drink, I'd recommend signing up for notifications before you visit. We signed up and ordered too.
