Busan Station milmyeon restaurant for a pre-train meal: Yeongdong
In short
Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap is a Korean restaurant near Busan Station in Dong-gu, Busan. I had an extra-large bowl of cold milmyeon with dumplings and kept going back for the savory hot broth. A great first or last meal of a Busan trip.

For someone like me who tries to eat milmyeon (Busan-style cold wheat noodles) every chance I get in Busan, finding a great milmyeon spot is an essential part of the trip. Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap is both inside Busan Station and right out front.

When there’s a line, there’s a line. It is in a great spot for eating as soon as you arrive at Busan Station, or for one last Busan meal before catching the train.

A menu from milmyeon to pork soup and suyuk
There are cold-broth and spicy mixed milmyeon, in regular or extra-large sizes, plus pork soup and suyuk (boiled sliced pork). You can choose regular or extra-large portions. With dwaeji gukbap (pork soup with rice) and suyuk too, you can cover Busan’s signature foods in one place.

I came in for milmyeon, then immediately wanted to order the pork soup and suyuk too—such dangerously good-looking menu items. There were also tons of celebrity signatures on the wall haha. And although there were lots of travelers hauling suitcases, there were plenty of older people who seemed like locals too, which somehow put me at ease haha.

Each table has spicy seasoning paste, vinegar, and mustard, and the basic sides include cucumber and pickled radish. The yellow pickled radish is for the dumplings haha.

But owner, you really need to replace those mustard-and-vinegar bottles. I squeezed the mustard and suddenly opened Mustard Park. Nothing came out because it had burst, then I pressed it and it suddenly exploded hahaha.

Hot broth you keep reaching for before the milmyeon arrives
Warm broth, cucumber, and pickled radish. Serving the cucumber separately in slices like that made me think, for some reason, that I needed to pair it separately too haha. The way a restaurant plates and serves things really does matter, I guess haha.

The broth is so good. I want to take about a liter home in a takeaway cup and drink it ;;;;;

At milmyeon places, I tend to drink a cup of hot broth first. This one was salty, warm, and deeply savory, so I kept reaching for it before the milmyeon even came out. Then the dumplings arrived. The dumplings were insane too.

Since milmyeon is cold, eating a warm dumpling here and there makes for a seriously good combination. That is probably why every milmyeon restaurant sells dumplings so well, as long as they sell them hahaha.

Extra-large cold milmyeon with slushy ice broth
The milmyeon looks unreal. The extra-large portion is wild. But the noodles were so chewy, soft, and delicious....

It came generously topped with broth floating with slushy ice, cucumber, radish, and meat garnish. Just looking at it feels refreshing. That slushy ice is seriously wild.

It goes so well with the dumplings too. That kind of slushy ice is impossible to make at home.

Ah, that look I simply cannot resist. What I personally love about Busan milmyeon is that the noodles go down a little more softly than naengmyeon, and these were easy to slurp up too. The broth was cool and clearly savory, and it was plenty delicious without overdoing the vinegar or mustard from the start.

I recommend trying it as is first, then adding vinegar and mustard little by little to taste. It is great with the dumplings too. Have a bite of milmyeon, one dumpling, then another spoonful of that slushy broth.

Slushy ice, slushy ice, round and round So good, so good, round and round

A meal right after arriving at Busan Station or before your train
If you are looking for milmyeon near Busan Station, this is worth a stop for its easy access and varied menu. Its location is especially great whether you want to start your trip with a bowl of milmyeon as soon as you arrive, or have one before boarding the train on the last day of your Busan trip.

Beyond milmyeon, there are pork soup, suyuk, and dumplings, so there are plenty of options when a group has different cravings. As for me, when I come to Busan, I have to eat milmyeon…

Slurping the noodles in cool broth, with dumplings in between, made for a proper meal. More than anything, I keep thinking about that hot broth haha. Ah, I want milmyeon again...

The toppings on the milmyeon are great too. So good…

Dishwasher mode on. Ah, I could probably eat milmyeon for all three meals a day.

I ate so, so well.
