Where is Gatjidong Busan Jangjeon Branch, and why go back?
📍 1F, 11 Sikmulwon-ro, Geumjeong-gu, Busan, South Korea — 382m from Exit 5 of Oncheonjang Station.

Gatjidong Busan Jangjeon Branch — the name means "a delicious freshly-made meal" — sits between Oncheonjang and Busan National University stations. I tried the tonkatsu and salmon donburi here a few months back and it was so good and generous that I told myself I'd come back. This time I did, with my boyfriend~

Starting with the bar-table space where you can comfortably eat solo,

whether it's a date, a family meal with kids, lunch, or a gathering with friends, if you're looking for a solid meal spot, I'd recommend this Oncheonjang restaurant, Gatjidong.

What makes Gatjidong an easy meal with kids near Oncheonjang Station?
If you're looking for an Oncheonjang restaurant that's good with kids, go to Gatjidong! Kids' seaweed, furikake rice, Pororo vitamins, baby tableware, and a kids' apron are all provided free.

They even had a baby chair, baby fork, and baby spoon. Once I got inside, I saw a lot of babies in high chairs and kids around — now I know why!

What is on the unlimited self-bar?
Gatjidong's unlimited self-bar has various side dishes, soup, broth, and rice ready to go — just help yourself as much as you like.

Broth, cream soup, and white rice are all unlimited. The cream soup is sweet and savory — genuinely delicious.

Rice comes standard when you order tonkatsu, but if you need more, just use the self-bar.

We sipped warm soup while waiting for the food haha

While we were still sipping soup, our order came right out. Both the Jeju citrus buckwheat soba-style dish and the giant oyakodon looked absolutely incredible. I think I'll be craving this Japanese donburi and cool salmon udon again haha

Tomato citrus salmon udon, 15,500 won
Gatjidong's signature dish, tomato citrus salmon udon (an Oncheonjang restaurant favorite), is a unique udon in a cool, sweet broth loaded with udon noodles, salmon, tomato, cucumber, onion, scallion, and citron (cheonggyul).

Can you see the strands of salmon noodle-style slices? This is the salmon my boyfriend raved about. Add wasabi to taste as you like.

Giant oyakodon, 15,800 won
True to its name "giant," the giant oyakodon really does come with a ton of karaage (fried chicken).

This chicken donburi is finished with crispy karaage and a special sauce — we moved the chicken onto an empty plate to eat more easily. The crispy chicken with the sweet sauce was so good my chopsticks kept going back for more haha
