Daegu café with 3rd-floor window brunch on Geumho River: Hands Coffee
In short
Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch is a large café with Geumho River views, sitting at the highest point of the Dongchon Resort hill in Dong-gu, Daegu. On an overnight trip built around Dongchon Resort, the writer looked around all of floors 2, 3 and 4, then took a floor-to-ceiling window seat on the 3rd floor for the Hands House Brunch (17,300 won) and a fig chocolate pound cake. The ciabatta and baby potatoes at Hands Coffee were better than expected, making it a good place to enjoy brunch and the view together.

Visiting Dongchon Resort was the whole point of this overnight trip, so here's a record of a café with really good vibes. ☕️

It's great for enjoying a wider brunch menu than I expected, and the view sweeping across Dongchon Resort was really something too.

What kind of café is Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch? A large café with Geumho River views
Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch sits at the very top of the Dongchon Resort hill, a big café famous for its view where you can take in the open Geumho River and the changing seasons. ☕️
With spacious seating spread across floors 2 through 4, it has a relaxed atmosphere that suits any occasion — meetups, dates, family outings, studying, you name it.
☕️ Hours ☕️ Monday–Sunday 10:00 ~ 23:00
- Group seating available, Wi-Fi
- Separate men's/women's restrooms, takeout, easy payment
- Dedicated parking lot 🅿️
Parking and the 2nd-floor entrance
Parking 🅿️: There's a dedicated lot for the café, and roadside parking is also available nearby. ✔️There's a disabled parking space too. 🚙
As soon as you walk into the building, you'll see the sign right there. ✔️The Hands Coffee entrance is on the 2nd floor. You can take the elevator 🛗.
We scurried up the stairs instead. 🚶
Red brick outside, exposed concrete and wood inside — sleek but warm at the same time. Once we got to the 2nd floor, the coffee smell hit us. So fragrant it stimulated the stomach.

Menu at Hands Coffee: brunch and bingsu to coffee and desserts
Brunch & bingsu (shaved ice): Hands House Brunch set, Double Tray Hands Brunch sets A, B, and C, plus old-style patbingsu.

Coffee & handmade drinks: depending on the bean type, there's even more coffee variety to enjoy. There were quite a lot of handmade drink options too. ✔️Naver receipt review: leave a Naver photo review and get a free Hands cookie.
The display case was packed with roll cakes, pound cakes, slice cakes, waffles — all looking pretty delicious. 🍰

2nd, 3rd or 4th floor — which seats are best?
After finishing up our order, we walked around inside Hands Coffee.

2nd floor: ordering counter and window tables
2F: ordering counter, plus a variety of table seats. True to a big Dongchon Resort café, the interior is huge and the wide-open window view was so nice. 🌿
3rd floor: bar tables and the best photo spot
3F: table seats, bar seating, women's restroom 🚾 Just like the 2nd floor, the wide windows give you a full view of Dongchon Resort.
✔️The bar seating runs along a long counter, giving off a different vibe from the rest.
With Dongchon Resort spread out below, isn't this basically the best photo spot?
I hadn't even checked out the 4th floor yet, but in my heart I'd already claimed this 3rd floor spot, haha.
4th floor: rooftop and floor seating
4F: rooftop, floor seating, table seats, men's/women's restrooms 🚻 A mix of regular tables and floor seating, which seems to make it popular for small group gatherings since it works well for several people at once.
✔️Rooftop: on days when the sun isn't too strong, it seems like a great spot to enjoy the outdoors.

What comes with the 17,300-won Hands House Brunch?
We ordered the Hands House Brunch for our brunch dish, and a fig chocolate pound cake for dessert. (Decided to eat leisurely on the 3rd floor ^^)

It was a very sunny day, so the light-and-shadow contrast inside was great.
Once the food actually arrived, my mouth started watering — seriously;;

✔️Hands House Brunch ₩17,300 A brunch plate with fresh salad, house-baked ciabatta, and handmade Bierwurst sausage.
The plating was pretty, but it was also a surprisingly solid portion.
The scrambled eggs were soft with a nice buttery flavor — really tasty, and the fresh salad was great too.

I wondered what this was and cut it open — baby potatoes!! Way too delicious, I was genuinely surprised!

The plump handmade Bierwurst sausage was great dipped in ketchup, and great dipped in the potato sauce too — can't go wrong. ✔️The chewy ciabatta texture was so good I polished it off in no time, not that it's a secret. 👍👍 A much more filling brunch than expected, and I was very satisfied.
Fig chocolate pound cake at Hands Coffee
✔️Fig chocolate pound cake As the name suggests, it's a chocolate pound cake piled high with fig jam and a sprinkle of pistachio.

I hesitated over whether to peel off the plastic wrap, but decided we could handle it and pulled it right off...
Sliced it up nicely and finished off dessert together with our coffee! 💓 The fig jam was so chewy — such a perfect match with the dense chocolate pound cake.
In this beautiful space surrounded by nature, take some time to relax at Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch.
