Sajik-dong café for fudgy brownies and black sesame latte: CORR

In short

CORR is a baked-goods dessert café on Yeogo-ro in Sajik-dong, Dongnae-gu, Busan. At CORR the brownie costs 6,000 won and arrives with vanilla ice cream, so dense that even the knife it comes with barely cuts through, alongside a salt chocolate financier at 3,300 won and a black sesame latte at 5,300 won. CORR is an easy walk from Sajik Baseball Stadium and Busan National University of Education, making it a good stop to pick out dessert.

Exterior of CORR, a bakery-specialty café

Today I'm sharing my visit to CORR, a dessert spot in Sajik-dong. CORR is known as a bakery café specializing in gooum-gwaja (baked pastries), so I'd been wanting to check it out!

Entrance of CORR near Sajik Station

Where is CORR? Walking over from Sajik Baseball Stadium and Busan National University of Education

CORR is near Sajik Station, so it's an easy walk from Sajik Stadium. It's also close to the university's Gyodae Station, so a lot of college students probably drop by.

Inside CORR: the mood, the seating and two group rooms

CORR's interior has plenty of seating and feels spacious enough to settle in for a while. The wood-toned, calm atmosphere with plants scattered around gives it a fresh feel.

Seat inside CORR with a view of the outside

From the back of the café, the view outside is bright and clear, giving it an open feeling. The seats were also cushioned and comfortable, good for working or staying a while.

Inside one of CORR's private group rooms

There are two private group rooms, so it'd be a good pick for group get-togethers or when university students want to study together.

CORR also had a wide variety of teas. You could sample the scents of Kusmi Tea directly, and each type was kindly labeled with whether it contains caffeine — it felt like being at a dedicated tea café.

Takeaway packaging for CORR's financiers

Financiers and other desserts can also be packaged to go. The packaging was neat too, which made it feel perfect as a Sajik-dong souvenir or gift.

CORR's menu and prices

Menu

CORR's drink menu board

CORR has everything from coffee to non-coffee drinks, and teas and ades are made with house-made syrups, which should make the flavor even richer. As a seasonal item, they're also selling patbingsu (red bean shaved ice).

CORR's dessert display case

You can check the dessert selection directly at the display case. Some of the popular items sell out, so it's worth checking before ordering at the kiosk!

Various financiers displayed in CORR's case

With so many financier flavors, there were quite a few options you don't usually see at other dessert specialty shops.

There were also plenty of other baked goods like dujjonkoo (chewy cookies), muffins, and butter bars, so it was fun just picking what to try.

  • Decaf Americano ₩4,800
  • Black Sesame Latte ₩5,300
  • Brownie ₩6,000
  • Salt Chocolate Financier ₩3,300
CORR's open kitchen in action

It's an open kitchen, so I could watch the owner carefully making the drinks and desserts, which only made me more excited.

CORR's decaf Americano

How the decaf americano and black sesame latte taste at CORR

Decaf americano, 4,800 won

CORR offers a decaf bean option, so you can switch for just ₩500 more. It was a clean Americano with no burnt taste, easy to drink like water.

CORR's black sesame latte served unmixed

Black sesame latte, 5,300 won

This is one of CORR's signature menu items. It's served unmixed so you can drink it however you like. I took a sip without stirring and without a straw, and the rich, nutty black sesame flavor came through fully — even better than I expected 👍 Once mixed into the milk, it went down even more smoothly.

Table setting with drinks and desserts at CORR

With so many financier flavors on offer, ordering one felt like a must, so I got one. The brownie wasn't mentioned in the menu description, but it comes with vanilla ice cream when you order it 👍

CORR's salt chocolate financier

What is the salt chocolate financier like to eat?

The salt chocolate financier is ₩3,300. There were many financiers with elaborate toppings, but I ordered the simpler salt chocolate one to focus on texture. The salt part was savory, and maybe because it met the chocolate, it wasn't a typical salty taste — it was distinctive. The financier was properly chewy all the way to the center, moist with no dryness at all. I can recommend CORR's financiers on texture alone.

CORR's brownie topped with vanilla ice cream

Just how dense is CORR's brownie?

CORR's brownie is ₩6,000, and you can enjoy it even more moist with the vanilla ice cream. It came with its own knife, but the brownie was so dense it wasn't easy to cut. It felt way denser than a butter bar and had much higher density than a typical brownie.

Cross-section of CORR's dense brownie cut with its special knife

I can say without a doubt it's tops for denseness — it even felt like eating handmade chocolate. Adding the ice cream made the brownie even more moist, melting in the mouth. From the financiers to the brownie, it felt like a solid, fundamentals-first dessert spot.

CORR, a dessert café in Sajik-dong, is a spot I'd recommend stopping by whenever you visit the stadium.
