Hapjeong Station brunch set and ricotta garden salad: Seowon Angil

Hi, it's Mango~!! I really wanted to have a good brunch while in Seoul. I was wandering around Mangwon-dong and got hungry, so I looked for a brunch spot and found a Hapjeong café called Seowon Angil. The brunch menu looked varied and the space looked huge, so I headed straight over. The staff greeted me cheerfully the moment I walked in, which made a great first impression lol. Let me introduce this Hapjeong brunch café with tasty food and pretty interiors!

Where is Seowon Angil Hapjeong, and what are the hours and parking?

Seowon Angil is a large Hapjeong café, a 3-minute walk from Exit 3 of Hapjeong Station. I got there while exploring Mangwon-dong, and it worked well as part of a Mangwon-dong plus Hapjeong day trip.

Hours are weekdays 9:00-20:00 and weekends 11:00-21:00. The 1st and 2nd floors have slightly different hours, so check Naver Place for the details.

If you're driving, check parking ahead of time. Seowon Angil's own lot only fits about 3-4 cars, first-come first-served, so it's hard to guarantee a spot. If it's full, you can use the Amano Hapjeong Station Youth Housing parking lot or the Seogyo Building parking lot, both about a 2-minute walk away. If you use a paid lot and show the parking ticket when ordering, you get a ₩2,000 discount on your menu — a nice bit of help with parking!

Can you bring a dog to Seowon Angil Hapjeong?

Seowon Angil Hapjeong is also a dog-friendly Hapjeong café. There were a few dogs there when I visited, and I kept glancing over every time a cute one walked by lol. It's not a dog café packed wall-to-wall with dogs — it's more like a regular brunch café where you can bring your pet along, which actually felt more comfortable to me. If you've been looking for a place with both a dog-friendly policy and a varied food menu, this could be a solid pick!

What the interior and seating feel like

My first thought walking in was, oh... this is pretty. Totally my style!!

Plants are placed all around, so it feels green and lush, and the tables and chairs have slightly different designs at each spot. Definitely a different feel from a café that's just a big room crammed with seats!!

I've had times before at big cafés where it was so crowded and chaotic I left almost right away, but Seowon Angil is spacious without feeling cramped. The tables have enough space between them that it was easy to sit and take our time with brunch as a pair. They can also accommodate groups of up to 8.

The 2nd floor was also spacious, and that relaxed vibe was really nice.

The menu at Seowon Angil Hapjeong and what two people ordered

Seowon Angil Hapjeong basically has a huge drinks menu. And since it's a brunch café, there's a wide range of Western food too — soups, salads, open sandwiches, pasta, and more.

We got a little greedy with the menu lol. We ordered the red plum ade, ricotta garden salad, truffle mushroom & balsamic open sandwich, and the Angil Breakfast with small soup. The reason we ordered so much for two people is simple — we came all the way to Seoul, and it felt like a waste to only try one or two things lol. Each dish had different ingredients, so it was great to spread them all out and share a little of everything!!

Truffle mushroom & balsamic open sandwich

First, the truffle mushroom & balsamic open sandwich would make any mushroom lover's eyes light up. There's a genuinely huge pile of mushrooms on the bread, and the mushroom aroma hits you before you even take a bite. It wasn't just a token few slices — every bite had a proper mushroom bite to it. If you're ordering multiple dishes like we did, one open sandwich split in half is plenty. Doing it that way actually let us try more of the other brunch items too!

Ricotta garden salad

The moment the ricotta garden salad arrived, my first thought was, why is this so big...? lol. It was way bigger than the side-salad size I expected. The ricotta cheese wasn't just a nominal ingredient either — there was a generous amount, plus orange and pickled tomato, so there was a lot to pick through. The pickled tomato in particular was sweet and delicious. It tasted different paired with the ricotta, and popping an orange piece in between was refreshing haha. I did wonder at first whether we needed to order a salad on top of everything else... but I'm glad we did!!

Angil Breakfast with small soup

The Angil Breakfast was exactly the classic brunch I had in mind. Bread, sausage, bacon, fried egg, salad, cherry tomatoes, and apple jam all laid out on one plate. At first I ate everything separately, but eventually I just started mixing things up however I wanted lol. Egg on bread, then bacon on top, then a smear of apple jam... piling things on like that, the bread disappeared fast. I did think it would've been even better with some butter. Still, after finishing the plate I felt properly full — a real brunch meal!!

The breakfast also came with a small soup. Mine was pumpkin soup, and thankfully it was just the right level of sweetness for me. Smooth and warm — good! I've had pumpkin soups before that were so sweet a few spoonfuls felt like eating dessert. This one wasn't like that, so it paired well with the rest of the brunch. Dipping the bread into the soup was tasty too!

Red plum ade

For a drink, the red plum ade! It had a sweet plum flavor and was decent on its own. But what I actually wanted that day was something zesty and tangy like lemon lol. I'd love to see a lemon ade or orange ade added to the menu..! The red plum ade will suit people who prefer sweet fruit flavors over tartness.

Check the last order time before you go

If you're planning to visit late for brunch, it's worth checking the food last order time first. ✔️✔️ On weekdays, food last order is 18:30 and drinks 19:00; on weekends both food and drinks are orderable until 20:00. It'd be a shame to head over for brunch and miss the order window, so if you're going close to evening, check this in advance!

Is Seowon Angil Hapjeong worth a brunch trip?

I stopped by looking for brunch while wandering Mangwon-dong, and I liked both the menu and the space. The ricotta salad's surprisingly generous portion and the mushroom-loaded open sandwich were especially my style lol. The friendly staff added to it too — being warmly welcomed from the moment I walked in just put me in a good mood haha.

My goal of having good brunch in Seoul was fully accomplished~ If you're looking for a stylish large Hapjeong café, a Hapjeong brunch café with pretty interiors, or a dog-friendly Hapjeong café, give Seowon Angil a try. Next time I'm in Seoul, I want to stop by again and try the other menu items I missed this time 🤭
