If you've ever had plans near Wangsimni or just wanted to spend some quiet time alone, you've probably wondered, "where can I find a nice-vibe café with good dessert around here?" The area around Wangsimni Station is always busy and crowded, so finding a cozy, stylish café is trickier than you'd think.

Today I'm sharing an honest review of a café near Wangsimni Station I recently visited and was 200% satisfied with — from the exterior vibe to the coffee and dessert quality — Eojil In (어질인, 仁)!

Where is Eojil In, and what is the café like inside?

Eojil In is a two-floor café on a Seongdong-gu alley off Majoro 9-gil, an easy walk from Wangsimni Station. As you walk down the alley, its huge floor-to-ceiling windows and warm wood-and-brass exterior catch your eye right away. The building's façade carries a stylish sign engraved with the Chinese character '仁' (eojil, meaning benevolence), giving it a classic yet hip feel.

Because the whole front is glass, the warm interior lighting and emotional wood blinds are visible even from outside. Looking out through the window at the street trees, it's like a quiet hideaway perfect for an elegant cup of tea.

Stepping inside, the cozy, sophisticated interior instantly puts you at ease. Table spacing is comfortable and the lighting is soft, making it ideal for a date, a quiet chat with friends, or enjoying some time alone. On top of that, the owner and staff were so friendly that I felt great the whole visit!

What we ordered: two Basque cheesecakes, café latte and americano

That day we ordered Eojil In's signature dessert, two kinds of Basque cheesecake (plain & matcha), along with a café latte drawn with pretty latte art and a deep-flavored americano! Everything came out beautifully arranged on a neat wood tray with white mugs and plates — the visuals alone made it impossible not to take photos.

Plain Basque cheesecake at Eojil In

If you come to Eojil In, you absolutely must order this plain Basque cheesecake! The outside is golden and smoky-charred, and the inside has this pudding-like, chewy-yet-soft texture that's just artful.

With the cheese layered thick on the bottom, the harmony with the base is such that the first bite fills your mouth with deep, savory cheese flavor and sweetness. It's not an artificial sweetness but the deep flavor of the cheese itself, so it doesn't get tiring even by the last bite.

Matcha Basque cheesecake: bittersweet and deeply rich 🍵

If you're a matcha (green tea) lover, this dessert will make your eyes light up! The deep green matcha Basque cheesecake has that distinctive bittersweet, nutty green tea aroma packed densely together with the soft cream cheese.

It adds real depth — the heavy, intense matcha aroma pairs fantastically with coffee. It was my first time trying matcha cheesecake and it was so good.

Smooth café latte with heart latte art ☕

The heart-shaped latte art carefully drawn on top of the mug made it healing before I even took a sip. The ratio of the beans' nutty aroma to warm steamed milk was perfect, so it was so smooth and rich from the first sip to the last. One sip of bittersweet, nutty latte with one bite of dense cheesecake is a perfect dessert combo.

Americano for a clean, refreshing finish ☕

Eojil In's americano is dark and nutty without excessive acidity — it's excellent! It has a heavy, clean body, so a sip after the rich cheesecake resets your palate cleanly. It's a solid, classic coffee flavor that anyone would like without exception. There are also so many baked goods that go well with the americano~~
