Seongsu pasta restaurant with katsu sando for two: Seongsu Darak

In short

Seongsu Darak is a Western-style restaurant on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a building near Exit 3 of Seongsu Station in Seongdong, Seoul. Two people ordered the spicy cream pasta (19,000 won), the katsu sando and the Darak omurice (17,000 won) and cleared every plate, in a space defined by a low door shaped like a picture frame and a cozy attic mood. Seongsu Darak is an easy, no-fail pick for a date or a get-together with friends.

It had been a while since I craved pasta, so I went to Seongsu Darak, famous as a Seongsu pasta restaurant. 😊 From the pasta to the katsu sando to the omurice, everything was satisfying overall. Each dish was solid enough that I'd recommend this place for a date or a meal with friends.

Where is the entrance to Seongsu Darak? Look for the picture-frame door

Here's what the exterior looks like! That's not the door, haha.

The picture-frame-looking thing on the side is actually the door! Opening it felt like stepping into an attic. The entrance is low, so you have to duck your head to get in.

Overall the place had a cozy, attic-like atmosphere. THE BOYZ's Hyunjae seems to have visited here. There were THE BOYZ goods and photos in one corner! There was even a

Seongsu Darak's restroom with mouthwash provided

The restroom was also super clean and satisfying. They even had mouthwash ready.

Seongsu Darak's katsu sando with a thick tonkatsu cutlet

Katsu sando: the one dish to order at Seongsu Darak

One of the dishes I want to recommend is the katsu sando! The tonkatsu (pork cutlet) itself was really tasty. There's a thick piece of meat inside the bread, and the juiciness and texture of the cutlet were quite good. Crispy outside, soft inside — it went well alongside the pasta too.

The katsu sando came with coleslaw on the side. Eating them together made for a great balance. If you visit Seongsu Darak, the katsu sando is a must-try. ✔️

How spicy is the spicy cream pasta at Seongsu Darak?

If you like cream pasta, you'll enjoy this one without any issues. 😊

The spice level is just barely mild, so even people who can't handle spicy food should be fine. The sauce is a thick cream base that paired well with the noodles, and the overall flavor was satisfying. 👍🏻👍🏻

Dalak omurice topped with egg

Darak omurice: the staff cut the egg open at your table

Lately my Instagram algorithm keeps showing me videos of people making omurice (omelet rice)... I know how hard that is, so I was impressed to see every table at Seongsu Darak getting that same pretty egg omurice, haha.

A staff member cuts the egg open with a knife right at the table!

The omurice was delicious too. The egg was soft and the combination of sauce and rice worked really well. It's not a flavor that would split opinions — I think anyone from adults to kids could enjoy it. ☺️

Three dishes for two people at Seongsu Darak: was it too much food?

It looked like a lot for two people, but it really wasn't too much — it was just right, haha. (Though I do feel like this is how I'll gain weight...)

The variety in the Western-style menu makes this especially good when visiting with several people. Rather than just pasta, ordering the katsu sando and omurice alongside it let us try a nice range of dishes.

Empty plates at Seongsu Darak after finishing the meal

We cleaned our plates completely... haha. The food was consistently good across the board, no misses.

I think Seongsu Darak is a safe, reliable place to recommend for a date or a get-together with friends. It's right in the heart of the Seongsu hot spot area, so it's also great to fit into a route that includes visiting pop-up stores!
