Seongsu solo café with a tree-view window seat: iced latte at T Coffee

In short

T Coffee is a basement café on Achasan-ro in Seongsu, Seoul, just off the main café strip. With time to spare before an appointment, the writer sat alone at a window seat with an iced latte for 6,200 won and a pistachio cream choux for 6,500 won, as sunlight and green trees came through the floor-to-ceiling glass. For a Seongsu café that stays calm and does coffee and dessert equally well, T Coffee is a good pick.

Where in Seongsu is T Coffee?

T Coffee is a café on the basement floor of 159 Achasan-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. I had some time to kill before an appointment in Seongsu and went looking for somewhere quiet to sit, and ended up here. It's just off the main Seongsu strip, so the vibe was calmer than I expected, and best of all, the interior was really spacious — loved that.

Sunlight pouring into T Coffee's interior through floor-to-ceiling windows

The moment I walked in, sunlight was pouring through a huge floor-to-ceiling window, haha. The tables were spaced quite far apart, and there were several styles of seating, so it looked good whether you come alone or with a group. Seongsu cafés can get chaotic with crowds on weekends, but this place felt calm overall — great for sitting and just drinking your coffee, haha.

T Coffee's window seat: a green tree view in the middle of Seongsu

What I liked most was this window seat — you can see leafy green trees outside, which feels really relaxing even though you're right in the middle of Seongsu. When the sun is hitting this spot, having a coffee here would be amazing.

The seats further inside also looked good for opening up a laptop to work, or for reading a book.

T Coffee's menu and what I ordered

T Coffee's menu had a wide range, from coffee to tea. That day I ordered an iced latte for 6,200 won and a pistachio cream choux for 6,500 won.

  • Iced latte ₩6,200
  • Pistachio cream choux ₩6,500

I was just going to get coffee, but the desserts on display looked sooo pretty that I picked one right away!

There were several desserts to choose from, but since I love pistachio, I went straight for the pistachio cream choux.

Besides the pistachio choux, there was cheesecake, biscuits, and choco sandwich cookies — the whole display was almost too pretty to eat. I thought I'd definitely come back again, haha.

I sat by the window with my order, and with the sunlight and the tree view together, the atmosphere was really great.

Iced latte, 6,200 won: a latte even an americano drinker likes

T Coffee's iced latte is 6,200 won. I'm not a fan of lattes that are too watered down, but this one had good balance between milk and coffee flavor — the coffee didn't get lost.

A glass of T Coffee's iced latte

Even though I'm usually an Americano person, this latte was really good. It has that nutty, roasty flavor — I'd definitely recommend T Coffee's latte to latte lovers.

The latte's color was pretty too, and with the green background behind it, just sitting there felt kind of healing. If you're looking for somewhere quiet in Seongsu instead of a crowded café, this place is great, haha.

Iced latte placed alongside the dessert

The latte here is nutty but the coffee flavor still comes through properly. It's not too sweet or heavy, and paired well with dessert. Since my pistachio cream choux was on the sweet side, the combo with the iced latte was perfect.

What does the 6,500-won pistachio cream choux taste like?

T Coffee's pistachio cream choux is 6,500 won — three choux buns connected in a row on top, with a thick layer of cream in between. It was the item I'd been looking forward to, so I cut right into it.

From the side you can really see the pistachio cream packed tight between the choux — so every bite gets a proper amount of cream. It has that distinct nutty pistachio flavor, so it didn't taste like a just-sweet dessert.

Cross-section of the pistachio cream choux after one bite

I tried the cream on its own first — slightly dense but also soft and smooth. The pistachio aroma comes through subtly, and it's not too heavy, so it went down easier than I expected.

Crumble topping on the choux shell

The choux shell is slightly crisp on the outside and soft inside, which paired well with the cream. The crumble topping also kept the texture from being one-note. As someone who personally loves pistachio, I really, really liked this one, haha.

Who is T Coffee in Seongsu best for?

A bite of latte, a bite of pistachio cream choux — such a good combo. The dessert was sweet and nutty, and it paired really well with the latte!! If you're like me, looking for a Seongsu café for solo time where the dessert is just as good as the coffee, I'd recommend T Coffee.

  • Anyone looking for a Seongsu café good for solo coffee or working alone
  • Anyone who likes a calm, uncrowded atmosphere
  • Anyone who loves pistachio desserts

If that sounds like you, I recommend T Coffee, haha.
