While looking for somewhere to have dinner in Jeonpo, I was craving meat, so I went to Dwitdon Sanghoe, Jeonpo Branch! 🥩 There are so many barbecue places in Jeonpo that I debated where to go, but that day I wanted something a little different from standard samgyeopsal, so I went for dwitgogi, the less-common cuts from the back of the pig. 😊

Inside Dwitdon Sanghoe, Jeonpo Branch, and the menu
It is close to Jeonpo Elementary School and Bujeon Station! There are so many different barbecue spots when you look up good restaurants in Jeonpo these days, and this one is known for quality meat at great value.

The interior has exactly that Korean barbecue restaurant feel. There are plenty of tables and lots of room, so I think it would be more than suitable for a group visit.

I liked that it was clean and comfortable overall! I visited early in the evening, so there were not many people, but it got quite busy once dinnertime came around.

The menu has a wide variety of pork cuts, including specialty cuts, pork belly, pork skin, and pork neck. They also offer set menus, which made choosing easier, and I ordered the Dwitdon Half-Pig Set. Pork is ₩7,000 per serving, while soju and beer are ₩3,900—such great value. 👍
The Dwitdon Half-Pig Set and included sides
After a short wait, the meat and basic side dishes arrived. Sauces to enjoy with the meat, kimchi, wrap vegetables, tofu kimchi, and more are served alongside it.

If you run short of basics such as wrap vegetables or dressed scallions, you can help yourself to more at the self-service bar.

Bibim guksu, spicy mixed noodles, comes as one of the included sides here. It was made with thin wheat noodles rather than ramyeon noodles, and I thought it would be delicious wrapped up with the meat, haha.

The meat looked fresh and good at a glance. Just seeing it immediately made me want to dig in, haha. I think the appeal of dwitgogi is that each cut has a slightly different texture.

They put in labels so you can tell which cut is which, and there were many cuts I had never seen before. It feels different from familiar meats such as pork belly, so it seems like a good choice when you want to try something different with pork.

They explained that we should start by grilling the fattier cuts!

Grilling and tasting the different dwitgogi cuts
The meat turned beautifully golden on the grill, and it was delicious even on its own. Freshly grilled meat really is the best.
We grilled the other cuts right away too, and the different flavors and textures kept it from becoming boring. The leaner cuts were pleasantly light and chewy.

It was so good wrapped in vegetables, and also with the complimentary bibim guksu.

Halfway through, I felt like steamed egg and ordered it. The portion was generous and it was soft, so it went really well with either the meat or rice—I recommend it!

For our meal, we ordered doenjang jjigae, soybean-paste stew, and it actually had beef in it. Even after eating plenty of meat, the beef had its own appeal and was delicious. It was a little spicy, which cut through the richness, and it was such a good final dish!
How was dwitgogi as a Jeonpo dinner choice?

There are so many good restaurants in Jeonpo that it is fun to seek out a different one each time, and this time I visited Dwitdon Sanghoe as my Jeonpo barbecue pick. If you usually eat familiar choices such as pork belly or pork neck, it could be nice to choose Jeonpo dwitgogi once in a while. :)

Especially if you enjoy specialty cuts, this was a good place to try when you are deciding on dinner in Jeonpo. The meat felt fresh, and above all, the value was so good that I had a delicious meat meal without spending too much! I recommend it if you are looking for a great pork restaurant around Jeonpo-dong or Bujeon Station. 😊
