Busanjin Korean BBQ for pork rind lovers: Anmin Busan
In short
Anmin Busan is a Korean barbecue restaurant in Busanjin, Busan, serving a half-pig set and thick-cut pork belly grilled by the staff. Three of us added two portions of pork belly, steamed egg, and soybean paste stew for a very filling meal. Verdict: the chewy pork rind was the clear favorite.

I went out for meat and loved the atmosphere before anything else! This time, I visited Anmin Busan.
When I think of a barbecue restaurant, I normally picture a casual place where you just sit down and eat meat, but this one felt a little different the moment I walked in.

The whole place was clean yet upscale, so I thought it would be perfect for a gathering at a barbecue restaurant! I went with friends for delicious meat, and the lovely atmosphere had me in a good mood right from the start.
What we ordered at Anmin Busan

We ordered the half-pig set, plus two extra portions of whole pork belly! We also ordered steamed egg and soybean paste stew.

I liked the setup too, haha. It was not just meat on its own; mushrooms, vegetables, and pork rind came with it, so it was fun picking and choosing what to eat.

If you love meat, a spread like this is always welcome, right? Haha. Everything was juicy and went so well with the meat juices too.
Thick-cut pork belly, grilled for you—how convenient is that?

And they grill it for you, which was so convenient! It is thick, so it could be tricky to grill yourself, but they did it for us—how easy was that!!! They browned the outside while keeping the inside moist, so I got that rich, nutty flavor unique to pork belly properly~~~!!

With each bite, the juices were still subtly there. It was great with rice, but even eating the meat by itself, I kept reaching for more!

With sauces and vegetables alongside it, it was seriously so good, hahaha. Plenty for three people too~~~!!!
The pork rind I loved most in the half-pig set

The pork belly and pork rind were both seriously, seriously delicious!!
The pork rind that came with the half-pig set was really good too. It had been a while since I had pork rind and thought, wow, this place really knows how to do it, haha.

Pork rind can turn overly tough or hard if it is grilled badly, but what I had that day had exactly the right chewy texture.

The more I chewed the pork belly, the more its rich, nutty flavor came through, and with that nicely browned exterior, I just kept eating it. I went out for meat and became completely hooked on dipping it in the sauce, haha.

Of course, the classic is wrapping it in ssam (leaf wraps)~~~!! I already tend to love both pork rind and meat, so I was extra happy to find a tasty barbecue place where they grill it for you after so long.
A meal rounded out with steamed egg and soybean paste stew

It is nice to have a steamed egg when you are eating meat too, right? Haha. The fluffy steamed egg was great for spooning up between bites of meat.

It was soft and warm, and it paired well with spicy seasonings and the meat too.

We ordered soybean paste stew too, and a barbecue meal feels a little incomplete without it. A spoonful of its savory, earthy broth was just right for wrapping up after the meat.

After pork belly and pork rind, plus steamed egg and soybean paste stew, the three of us left truly stuffed, haha.
Why this barbecue restaurant has such a lovely atmosphere too

And beyond the food, I really loved the atmosphere. Rather than the usual hectic barbecue-restaurant feel, it was clean overall with an upscale mood, so I thought it would be nice for a date too.

It was comfortable enough to talk while enjoying delicious meat, so it did not feel like we simply came in, ate barbecue, and left; it felt like a relaxed meal out!
It had been a while since I found a barbecue restaurant that paid this much attention to its atmosphere too, so it stayed with me even more.

Above all, the half-pig set let us try a variety of cuts, and the extra whole pork belly was delicious too—but my number-one pick that day was absolutely the pork rind, haha. It really felt like I had finally found a place with delicious pork rind after a long time, so I think I will remember it next time I want barbecue!
