Seoul Forest café date: lime madeleine and Signature Noir at Notldun

In short

Notldun is a dessert boutique café on the Seoul Forest café street in Seongsu, Seoul. On this date at Notldun the order was the Signature Noir at 14,000 won, a lime madeleine at 4,500 won and two iced Americanos, eaten at a floor-to-ceiling window seat where the chef even set out a fork and knife. The lime madeleine, with its fresh lime scent, was the best madeleine I've had and Notldun is now saved as a place to return to.

While hunting for a good-vibe café in Seongsu, I visited Notldun, a dessert spot known for its stylish desserts and coffee 💕 With gorgeous, painstakingly made desserts and coffee, it's the kind of place where you can rest from a tiring day — perfect for a date course, and also a great mood for chatting with friends. If you're looking for a Seongsu dessert spot, head to Notldun 🤍

Where is Notldun, and where can you park?

Notldun sits on the Seoul Forest café street, so it's easy to find. By subway, it's near Suin-Bundang Line Seoul Forest Station Exit 5 or Line 2 Ttukseom Station Exit 8. ✔️ Parking — there's no dedicated lot. I'd recommend the nearby Ttukseom Yusuji public parking lot: ₩150 per 5 minutes, ₩1,800 per 60 minutes.

Inside Notldun: floor-to-ceiling windows and well-spaced tables

Among Seongsu cafés, Notldun stands out for its floor-to-ceiling windows that let in tons of sunlight — a cozy space, but with generous spacing between tables, so it felt like a great mood for taking your time.

With sunlight pouring in and soft lighting blending together, it was the perfect aesthetic date atmosphere.

Notldun's dessert showcase and the meaning behind the name

~ The highlight of Notldun: a parade of luxurious desserts ~ From the famous Signature Noir and Signature Blanc to the salted caramel mille-feuille, the Pistachio Festival, madeleines and more — just looking at them made my heart explode ❣️

📍 Notldun means "our gift, our talent" in French. The name is meant to convey the chefs sharing the gift of their talent — and just from the look of the desserts, you really do feel like you've received a pile of gifts.

Notldun's baked-goods boxes and gift packaging

The packaging — the baked-goods boxes, the shopping bags — is clean and polished too, which is why Notldun is often chosen for gifts. Being a dessert boutique, it has upscale desserts and packaging to match, and even during our visit there were several customers picking up gift orders. I should buy some as gifts next time too.

What we ordered at Notldun and what it cost

Notldun Signature Noir (₩14,000) Lime madeleine (₩4,500) 2 iced Americanos (₩6,000 × 2 = ₩12,000)

With desserts that looked like they belonged in a hotel, ordering was honestly a struggle. We went with the Signature Noir, the lime madeleine, and iced Americanos.

Ta-da! This is totally a Jang Wonyoung-level dessert, insane, positive 🩶 The desserts and coffee were brought to our table, and the chef's kind, careful service made the whole visit comfortable. He even set out the fork and knife himself, which made us feel genuinely well taken care of — really memorable.

How the Notldun Signature Noir (14,000 won) tastes

First, the Signature Noir is basically a luxury dessert in itself. Topped with the Notldun logo, it's a knockout cake combining milk chocolate, almond, and a hint of whiskey. Delicate and stylish in design, the Signature Noir absolutely lives up to the "dessert boutique" name!

It was too pretty to eat, honestly — a true work of art. The rich chocolate mousse was smooth with deep flavor, and the French milk chocolate gave it a luxurious vibe 🤎

The balance of soft and crunchy textures is a must-try for any dessert lover. I fell for the creamy-yet-crisp variety of textures and gave my boyfriend a thumbs-up of approval.

The lime madeleine (4,500 won): the best madeleine I've had

I already knew Notldun was famous for madeleines, so I ordered the lime madeleine — and it became my best-ever madeleine. That plump little belly on the madeleine, so satisfying ₍՞ • 🐽 • ՞₎

The lime madeleine was on a completely different level from any madeleine I've had before — the lime flavor was so vivid, giving it a burst of freshness, and the moist texture was superb. It's a different world from the madeleines at a regular café 💛

Iced Americano at Notldun (6,000 won)

The iced Americano had a lovely fragrant aroma with a bright pop of acidity — really appealing. Sipping it alongside the desserts made for a happy coffee time with my boyfriend 🥤
