I was trying to figure out what to eat for lunch near Pyeongtaek Station and suddenly craved meat, so I went to Pyeongtaek Jumulleok Pyeongtaek Station Branch. There are so many restaurants around Pyeongtaek Station that picking a menu is always a bit of a struggle, but that day I wanted something filling to eat with rice, so I decided on jumulleok (marinated grilled pork).
To cut to the chase, I had a pretty satisfying meal that day. The owner was especially friendly, which kept the atmosphere comfortable the whole time, and it was nice that I could refill the banchan (side dishes) whenever they ran low.

Why Pyeongtaek Jumulleok came up in a search for lunch near Pyeongtaek Station
The place I visited was Pyeongtaek Jumulleok Pyeongtaek Station Branch. When you're searching for lunch near Pyeongtaek Station, you see a lot of familiar options like gukbap (rice and soup), jjigae (stew), or cold noodles, but that day I wanted something a bit more filling. So I went looking for a meat menu and ended up at jumulleok.

And I also ordered cold noodles on top ^^

Jumulleok is a dish that goes well with rice, so it works fine as a lunch menu too. Eating it with rice and banchan instead of just the meat alone made for a much more filling meal. If you're looking for a lunch spot near Pyeongtaek Station, this kind of meat menu isn't a bad option.

What two servings of jumulleok look like
That day I ordered two servings of jumulleok at Pyeongtaek Jumulleok Pyeongtaek Station Branch. There's something about the smell of meat cooking after you order that just makes you hungrier. It's also fun to grill it yourself right at the table. Once it was well cooked, I put it over rice with some banchan on the side, and I ended up eating way more rice than I expected.

The sauce pairs so well with rice that eating it together was, to me, tastier than just eating the meat on its own. I went during lunchtime already pretty hungry, so before I knew it I had eaten quite a lot. The glass noodles that come with the order ^^ were a nice little bonus dish.

Order rice at Pyeongtaek Jumulleok and the fried-rice set is free
One thing I really liked was that ordering rice came with a separate set of fried-rice ingredients prepared for you. They also gave me sesame oil and dried seaweed flakes, so after eating some meat I could fry up rice right there. Finishing meat with fried rice really makes for a filling meal.
The sesame oil especially gave off a nutty aroma, and frying rice in the leftover sauce after the meat was pretty great. With this kind of service, the meal felt properly finished instead of just ending with the jumulleok alone. (The seaweed flakes and sesame oil were free service ^^)

Are banchan refills available at Pyeongtaek Jumulleok?
It was nice that Pyeongtaek Jumulleok Pyeongtaek Station Branch lets you refill banchan when they run low. When you're eating meat, the side dishes disappear faster than you'd think, so it was convenient not having to ration them carefully — I could just ask for more.

I tend to eat a variety of banchan alongside meat, so this detail mattered to me, and I was satisfied. The owner was also really friendly. The atmosphere made it easy to ask for anything I needed during the meal, and the service was warm enough that even as a first-time visitor I could eat comfortably. Good food matters, but a friendly owner really does make the meal feel even better afterward.
