Korean beef hangover soup two ways: raw egg and dadaegi chili paste
🍲 Deep, refreshing broth! Korean beef hangover soup
This savory Korean beef hangover soup comes out bubbling in a stone pot.
It's packed with napa cabbage and dried radish greens, giving the broth a really clean, deep flavor that stands out.
It's not just broth either — there's plenty of tender, hearty Korean beef and other ingredients in there. Scoop up a big spoonful and one bite completely settles your stomach.
They also serve a raw egg on the side, which you crack open and drop into the still-hot stone pot. The heat from the broth gently cooks the egg, making it even softer and more savory!
Try the hangover soup's clean, savory broth on its own first, then stir in a spoonful of the chili paste (dadaegi) provided on the table! It transforms from a clear, deep broth into a spicy, fiery one — so you get to enjoy two different flavors in one bowl.
What comes with the 10,000-won solo lunch set?
🍱 Amazing value! The solo lunch set (lunch special)
Here's the lunch special solo set (₩10,000) I'd been looking forward to! On a neat tray, you get the main dish of seasoned jumulleok, savory soup, and four tidy side dishes (stir-fried fish cake, dried radish green namul, stir-fried seaweed stem, and baek-kimchi).
The look of the gochujang jumulleok, sprinkled with sesame seeds, is fantastic! The sauce is well soaked into the meat, and it's stir-fried with onion and scallion, which really whets the appetite.
Scoop up a big spoonful of freshly cooked black rice, top it with a piece of the sweet-and-spicy jumulleok and some crunchy baek-kimchi, and eat it all in one bite... it's an absolute rice thief!
Mixing the doenjang-based radish green soup that comes with the set into the rice, then topping it with kimchi, was really filling. It's hard to believe such an impressive spread only costs ₩10,000.👍🏻🥰

How spicy is the Korean beef yukgaejang at Pyeongtaek Jumulleok?
I also ordered the spicy Korean beef yukgaejang along with the hangover soup. While the hangover soup's charm lies in its soft, savory flavor, the yukgaejang stands out for its heavy spiciness that hits from the very first spoonful. It's not an artificial heat but a delicious spiciness built on the richness of Korean beef bone broth, chili oil, and the sweetness of scallions!

Served in a big red bowl, the Korean beef yukgaejang is spicy yet deeply savory and addictive. It's simmered until the beef is tender, and it's packed with well-boiled scallions, bracken fern, and mushrooms, giving it great texture.
Mixing a bowl of rice into the fiery broth and topping it with a piece of diced radish kimchi completely clears away last night's drinking — a truly satisfying hangover cure! Anyone who loves spicy, fiery soups is sure to enjoy this without exception!!
If you're near Pyeongtaek Station looking for a proper Korean restaurant or a hearty lunch, be sure to visit Pyeongtaek Jumulleok!
