Where is Parang Haenyeojip Sinsa Direct Store in Sinsa-dong?

Parang Haenyeojip Sinsa Direct Store is a raw fish restaurant at 19 Gangnam-daero160-gil, 1F, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, a 6-minute walk from Sinsa Station Exit 8. It's open 16:00–01:30, until 02:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, and is group-friendly, allows corkage, and is a no-kids zone.

It's a raw fish restaurant famous around Sinsa-dong and Garosugil for fresh flounder, yellowtail and more, so if you're in the area I'd definitely recommend a visit. It's right in the center of Garosugil, so it was great to stop by while wandering around the neighborhood.

The exterior of Parang Haenyeojip Sinsa Direct Store is filled with blue, so you immediately get the sense it's a sashimi place. It's supposedly famous as a Garosugil raw fish restaurant, a Sinsa-dong raw fish restaurant — and my first impression of the space was already good!

There were photos of the popular signature menu items outside, and they looked really delicious. Once I went in and ate, I felt like the actual dishes came out looking just like the photos.

There's a large menu board set up outside the restaurant, so you can decide what to order before you even go in~

What is a Friday night like inside Parang Haenyeojip, and how is the seating?

Parang Haenyeojip Sinsa Direct Store started filling up with nearby office workers from early Friday evening. We visited with a reservation, and the tables were very clean and comfortable 👍🏻

The delicious menu items were divided into first-round menu, anju (drinking snacks), soups and so on, and there were also basic house notices worth reading!

We hadn't even sat down to order yet and the restaurant already felt like it was filling up... I really do think Parang Haenyeojip is famous as a Garosugil raw fish restaurant, a Sinsa-dong raw fish restaurant. The place had great atmosphere too, with ocean imagery projected across the whole wall for a cool, refreshing feel, and the windows at our seat were huge so we could look outside at the same time 👍🏻

Why is the seaweed soup side dish worth reordering?

The basic side dish at Parang Haenyeojip Sinsa Direct Store is seaweed and seaweed soup (miyeokguk). They serve it per person and it's reorderable, so — sorry to the owner — my wife and I reordered it several times.

First of all, the seaweed soup was seriously so delicious. It seems especially great when the weather gets cold, nice and hot!! And the fact that they give it per person separately is a plus!!

You order via the tablet placed at each table. Living up to its reputation as a Sinsa yellowtail spot, there was a whole lineup of dishes that looked really delicious.

What comes in the signature haenyeo box?

The signature menu at Parang Haenyeojip Sinsa Direct Store, the haenyeo box, is made up of aged sashimi, abalone, giant haenyeo gimbap (seaweed rice roll), octopus, sea squirt, mussels, and scallop. After some deliberation we ordered the haenyeo box, and it came out looking so pretty and packed with such a full spread that I thought we made the right call haha.

There are really, really so many mussels! They were cooked just right, so I slurped them down right away.

Such incredibly chewy aged sashimi and giant haenyeo gimbap. It was so delicious it was almost a shame watching each piece disappear — the giant haenyeo gimbap especially had fresh, soft, and crispy textures all at once, and it was genuinely amazing.

The chewy, plump, amazing octopus was also super satisfying and great for getting your protein in 👍🏻

My husband isn't great with sea squirt, but Parang Haenyeojip's sea squirt was so fresh that he barely noticed any fishy taste and ate it happily.
