Sinsa Station sashimi restaurant with futomaki: Parang Haenyeojip

In short

Parang Haenyeojip Sinsa Direct Store is an aged-sashimi and seafood restaurant on Garosugil near Sinsa Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Two friends shared a half roll of futomaki (16,000 won), a small aged sashimi platter (48,000 won) and a spicy seafood ramyeon (12,000 won) — the sashimi was thick and firm, and the futomaki was better than expected. Parang Haenyeojip was already full at 6pm on a weekday, so a reservation is essential.

My friend and I went to Parang Haenyeojip near Sinsa Station and ate ourselves silly haha ;D I really love aged sashimi!!! It was fresh and chewy and so good! And the futomaki was tastier than I expected!! Let me share the review ;)

Where is Parang Haenyeojip Sinsa, and how do you book and park?

Parang Haenyeojip Sinsa Direct Store is on the 1st floor at Gangnam-daero 160-gil, Garosugil, near Sinsa Station. The blue sign stands out even from far away so it was easy to find ๑^◡^๑

There's a menu posted outside, and the star mark next to the aged sashimi platter made me decide right there that I had to order it :)

Inside Parang Haenyeojip Sinsa: wave videos and full-window seats

Even at 6pm on a weekday, Parang Haenyeojip Sinsa was already packed. Weekends must have a waitlist for sure.

Live wave video covering the wall

As soon as we walked in, a live wave video covering one whole wall caught my eye. It was too noisy to hear over the crowd, but there's actually wave sound playing along with the video haha

Window seat for two at Parang Haenyeojip with a large window

On top of the wave video there's also a big window, which added to the breezy feeling. I was seated at a reserved window table for two :) It was a corner spot, which was nice haha

Ordering kiosk set up at the table

Signature menu items are posted all over the walls. You order through the kiosk at each table :) Even though I came in determined to get the aged sashimi, I still agonized over the choices..! Too many things looked delicious ㅜ.ㅜ haha

Parang Haenyeojip Sinsa menu, starting with the free seaweed soup

Parang Haenyeojip gives everyone one seaweed soup (miyeokguk) per person, complimentary. I've been eating seaweed soup for four days straight lately, and even so, this one was delicious!! The umami was insane!!

Complimentary seaweed soup served one per person

The futomaki and the sashimi platter arrived ♥♥ (along with one beer, one soju)

Futomaki half roll, 16,000 won

Thick-cut futomaki half roll
Cross-section of the futomaki roll packed with fillings

Futomaki (seaweed rice roll) <half roll>, ₩16,000. A full roll was ₩30,000 — a bit steep..! Since there was a half roll option, I picked that right away ♥ It's quite large, but not too hard to eat in one bite! The brown piece in the middle looked like burdock root but had the texture of tuna..! I don't know what fish it actually was! But it was so so good!!!! I kept meaning to ask but kept forgetting ㅜㅜ Anyway, it was really, really delicious..!

Small aged sashimi platter, 48,000 won

Aged sashimi platter with five types of fish, small size
Plate of thickly sliced aged sashimi

Aged sashimi platter <small>, ₩48,000. Look at the visual — how's that sashimi lineup? Five types sliced into thick pieces, and even the <small> size was generous! Flounder, salmon, sea bass, red seabream, and even flounder fin, all glossy and shiny~ No fishy taste at all, just nutty, clean, and chewy — so good!

A mouth-watering visual ๑>◡<๑

Spicy seafood ramyeon, 12,000 won, added at the end

Extra order of spicy seafood ramyeon
Rich broth and noodles of the spicy seafood ramyeon

★Added★ Spicy seafood ramyeon, ₩12,000. I started craving the broth partway through haha. If you order it as part of a set from the start, you get a discount. I'd recommend ordering it as a set. I went back and forth between the pollack roe stew and the spicy seafood ramyeon, and picking the ramyeon was no regret at all. The rich broth and the noodles, even a bit soft, were so good..haha Unforgettable-♥

Drinks flowed nicely haha We met up after a while, ate well, and chatted the whole time :) The atmosphere is great and the food's tasty, so it'd make a good date spot too ❤️
