My hair isn't that thick, so even after blow-drying I always felt like it lacked volume ㅠㅠ Especially when my roots sit flat, my whole head looks flat too…

Before the root perm: flat roots on thin hair

My roots were just completely flat, not pretty at all ㅠㅠ Manager Sora kindly explained how she'd style my hair, which really built my trust!!

How does Manager Sora wind the root curls?

The root perm officially begins! One of the most important parts of a root perm is how the roots are curled -

What impressed me this time was how tightly and carefully she wound the root curls. She kept asking if it hurt along the way — so thoughtful! She wound the curls firmly so the volume would build up right from the roots.

She didn't just casually wind the roots — she was really attentive to making sure the volume would come alive from the roots!

They also gave me tea and snacks so I wouldn't get bored during the treatment!

How long does a root perm take? 10 minutes for stage 1, shorter for stage 2

After curling the roots, the treatment moved forward. The first stage took about 10 minutes. First stage: about 10 minutes!

Then came the second stage, which was done a bit shorter than the first.

After both stages, there was about 7 minutes of cooling time. It wasn't finished right after the treatment — there was a cooling step in between! After cooling for about 7 minutes, the neutralizing process followed.

Finishing clinic and how to blow-dry for root volume at home

After the root perm, she finished up with a clinic service ෆ Hair care matters after a perm, so it was great to get a clinic treatment as part of the finishing step — a course that both revives root volume and takes care of hair condition! I'll need to keep looking after my hair regularly at home too!!

While doing the final blow-dry, she personally showed me how to dry it to keep the roots lifted. It wasn't just about drying it pretty and calling it done — she showed me how to maintain the volume at home too, which I loved. A root perm matters, but so does how you dry your hair day to day! I'm going to practice the method she showed me haha.

After the root perm, there's definitely real volume!! Seeing it droop every time I looked in the mirror was such a stress, so I'm really happy with this root perm ෆ
