Pyeongtaek Bijeon-dong galbi house with doenjang stew: Okryeon Galbi
In short
Okryeon Galbi Pyeongtaek Main Branch is a yuzu-aged pork galbi (short rib) restaurant in the Sosabeol area of Bijeon-dong, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi. On a friend's strong recommendation, the writer drove over and ordered the yuzu-aged pork galbi with perilla oil makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles) and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew); the ribs tasted clean rather than sweet, with no gaminess and a light yuzu aroma that had everyone reaching for more rice. Even from out of town, Okryeon Galbi is worth the drive back with parents along.

What kind of place is Okryeon Galbi Pyeongtaek Main Branch?
Okryeon Galbi Pyeongtaek Main Branch is a pork galbi restaurant in Sosabeol, Bijeon-dong, Pyeongtaek — today's recommendation, the kind of place where after one visit you just have to say 'I'm coming back.' It had been a while since my last visit, and even the exterior gave off delicious vibes, my hunger and anticipation building up together.

The interior is clean and comfortable to sit and eat in, making it a great pick for anyone looking for a pork galbi restaurant in Bijeon-dong, Pyeongtaek for family gatherings or work dinners haha.

I've only visited during the day, when they grill for you if it's not too busy haha. In the evenings, staff grill everything for you, so a big plus is that you don't have to worry about the grilling and can just relax and focus on conversation.

What does the signature yuzu-aged pork galbi taste like?
We ordered the signature yuzu-aged pork galbi, made in-house with yuzu aging! The taste that instantly explains why people looking for the best galbi restaurant in Sosabeol pick Okryeon Galbi...!!

They said it's marinated in a special sauce with a recipe hard to find anywhere else — and the visual proves it 🤤

It completely erases any gaminess in the meat, yet the yuzu scent isn't overpowering, and it's not sweet either — just clean, clean flavor,,,!!

Even each side dish is made with real care, and you can feel how much the owner puts their heart into cooking — it's satisfying every single time haha.
Grilled golden over charcoal, the outside of the ribs gets a slightly caramelized, sweet coating, and when you take a bite, juicy meat juices burst out followed by a faint, refreshing touch of yuzu.

This is something you really need to try in person rather than just read about,,, I guarantee once you've been, it'll linger in your mind 🌟 Even my friend who normally dislikes yuzu was just scarfing it down lolol.

Sweetness, tang, and smokiness from the charcoal all add another layer of depth to the meat's flavor — and the real charm of Okryeon Galbi is how incredibly tender it is. No matter how much you eat, the finish stays clean and never greasy, so you keep reaching for just one more bite!

Especially when you dip a piece generously into this special sauce and take a bite—

The way it all balances together is genuinely irresistible — the kind of yuzu galbi I almost don't want to tell people about, yet also feel it deserves to be widely known, honestly ㅠ Number one pork galbi restaurant in Bijeon-dong, Pyeongtaek!

And since I'm someone who believes meat needs rice, putting a piece on top of warm rice is truly a rice thief situation haha.

Best sides at Okryeon Galbi: perilla oil makguksu and doenjang jjigae
We also ordered perilla oil makguksu (buckwheat noodles) alongside the galbi. The nutty perilla oil scent rises up, and when you toss the chewy noodles, that nuttiness soaks into every strand and refreshingly cuts through any greasiness left in your mouth!

The doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) came out still bubbling, and it wasn't that generic store-bought doenjang smell — it was a genuinely delicious, deep, savory broth like something from a countryside home, warming you up from the inside and even helping cut through the richness of the meat,, kya.

Pairing the yuzu galbi with these side dishes really makes for a fully satisfying meal haha.

Is Okryeon Galbi worth the drive from out of town?
True to its reputation as a favorite galbi restaurant among Pyeongtaek locals in Sosabeol, this has officially become a place I want to drive back to and bring my parents to, even though I now live far away!

If you're looking for a real, standout pork galbi restaurant in Bijeon-dong, Pyeongtaek — not just another ordinary meat house — Okryeon Galbi Pyeongtaek Main Branch won't disappoint 👍🌱 On a cool breezy day when you're craving a good piece of meat, why not grab the hand of someone special and go enjoy a plate of Pyeongtaek yuzu galbi together? ^_^
