Hi, this is Lovely~! My husband and I were out on a date in Suwon and looking for dinner, so we stopped by Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch. I wanted something filling. While searching for good spots in Ingye-dong, I picked this place because you can get both haejangguk and tripe soup here~ From parking to the meal itself, it was more convenient than I expected, so I wanted to share it with anyone looking for a good gukbap spot near Suwon City Hall Station!

There was parking space right in front of the restaurant, so it was convenient to come by car too.

How ordering works and what we chose

After sitting down, we browsed the menu and ordered through the tablet ordering system! When there are too many menu items it takes forever to decide, but here the menu wasn't too complicated, which I liked. My husband ordered haejangguk, I ordered tripe soup, and we added a small dombe pork on top.

Inside Jeju Eunhuine: how busy is it late on a weekday evening?

Inside there was a map of Jeju hanging on the wall, and a dol hareubang (stone grandfather statue) at the entrance, so you could feel a bit of Jeju vibe without actually going there!

Even though we visited late on a weekday evening, there were quite a few people eating. I saw solo diners as well as what looked like couples and married pairs. The space was fairly spacious, so tables were spread out, which let us eat at a relaxed pace~

I also used the restroom in the middle of the meal and it was kept clean, which I liked~

Two self-serve bars and free rice refills

There were two self-serve bars set up, so it was easy to grab whatever side dishes you needed~ Each bar had clear signage about what was available, so it wasn't confusing even for a first visit! Free rice refills also caught my eye. That's probably a welcome detail for anyone worried the portions might not be enough!

Both cooked and uncooked takeout are available, and they also sell seasoned soybean paste, so this could be useful info for anyone thinking of takeout instead of eating in!

Small plate of dombe pork: the right size for two

The small dombe pork came out first along with the basic side dishes. As a side dish for two people, the small size was just about right~

Wrapping the dombe pork in lettuce, it was salty yet clean-tasting and went well together, and eating it alongside the soup made the meal even more filling~

What does the haejangguk taste like? Minced garlic on the side

Soon after, the haejangguk and tripe soup arrived, and one interesting thing was that they served minced garlic separately~! I tried adding it in, and the garlic aroma came through gently while making the broth's flavor feel even richer!

My husband's haejangguk had a fairly rich, clean-tasting broth even without adding chili paste. It was loaded with meat, beef liver, bean sprouts, glass noodles, green onion, dried radish greens, and more — the ingredients were really generous! So if you're looking for a good gukbap spot near Suwon City Hall Station and portion size matters to you, I'd recommend Jeju Eunhuine~!

Is the tripe soup very spicy?

The tripe soup I ordered came standard with a red broth base. Just from the color, I thought it would be spicy, but when I actually tasted it, it wasn't as spicy as I expected — just moderately spicy!

The tripe itself had no off smell and was soft with a nicely chewy texture. Eating the broth and tripe together, I ended up finishing almost the whole bowl before I knew it~ I got quite full, so unfortunately I couldn't manage a separate bowl of rice. That's how filling the tripe soup was on its own!

Verdict: gukbap after a date in Ingye-dong

This is a place worth visiting when you're on a date in Ingye-dong and craving something hearty, or when you're thinking of haejangguk or gukbap for lunch near Suwon City Hall~! Ordering one haejangguk, one tripe soup, and adding dombe pork on the side let us try several dishes together, which made it even better!
