I visited Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch, the original Jeju-island hangover soup restaurant that's landed in Suwon!

A 3-minute walk from Suwon City Hall Station: how is parking at Jeju Eunhuine?

This place is a 3-minute walk from Suwon City Hall Station, so it's really accessible — and it's a spot Jeju locals swear by, one you used to only find on Jeju Island itself. Fresh ingredients and a spicy broth you can now enjoy on the mainland? I had to go 😉

There's a wide parking area right in front of the store, plus the building's basement lot, so it was easy to get there by car~
As you'd expect from a well-known gukbap (soup with rice) spot near Suwon City Hall Station, the clean interior already had quite a few people enjoying tasty soup even in the early evening~

Seating and the self-serve bar at Jeju Eunhuine
Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch has everything from movable 4-person tables to partitioned seats, so I'd recommend it for group gatherings or dates~

The self-bar off to one side has basic side dishes, various seasonings and tableware — and you can even grab a portable charger or hair tie there 👍

With Eunhuine Haejangguk, if you order one meal per person, you get unlimited rice refills! (How am I supposed to hold back with spicy soup and rice like that — haha)

They even have aprons and baby chairs ready, so it's good for eating with kids too. Let me quickly tie on an apron and order~
Jeju Eunhuine's menu and prices: what we ordered

To get the full taste of Jeju, we ordered tripe soup (naejangtang) for 13,000 won, small dombe pork for 13,000 won, and yangmuchim (spicy tripe salad) for 16,000 won~

The basic side dishes that pair well with gukbap come out first: seokbakji (radish kimchi), chili peppers, doenjang (soybean paste), and minced garlic.

Finally, the dishes we ordered arrive 👏👏👏 From the meat to the spicy-tangy salad to the hot soup — all rice-thief menu items, and with unlimited rice refills it was so satisfying haha

Naejangtang (tripe soup), 13,000 won
Just looking at it tells you it's spicy — the tripe soup comes bubbling away in a hot stone pot.
The tripe soup has a refreshing broth loaded with cleaned beef tripe, congealed blood (seonji), and all sorts of vegetables. (They kept refilling it until we finished!)

The seonji had a chewy texture with no gamey smell, and the tripe was plump and tender — genuinely delicious. But most of all, this broth! It was incredible~ (I came here to cure a hangover but ended up wanting to crack open another bottle of soju, haha) Simmered from bone broth for 24 hours, it was deep, refreshing, and cleanly spicy — I couldn't put my spoon down 🤤

Dombe pork, small, 13,000 won
Dombe pork, sliced right on the chopping board the traditional Jeju way! (I thought dombe was a specific cut of pork, but it turns out it just means it's sliced on a chopping board — haha)

The lean meat was tender, the skin chewy, and the savory flavor built up the more you chewed — really excellent. I wrapped mine in lettuce with yangmuchim on top, and the spicy-tangy kick made it even better 😋

Yangmuchim (seasoned tripe salad), 16,000 won
Eunhuine Haejangguk's specialty, yangmuchim! Crisp cucumber, refreshing onion and various vegetables tossed with a spicy, tangy, sweet sauce — it's perfect as a drinking snack or a side dish with rice~ There was a lot of chewy tripe in it too, so every bite was enjoyable 😖

I never got to try this on Jeju Island because the wait was too long, but being able to taste the real local flavor so close to home! Getting to try a variety of dishes like this — totally. satisfied. 👍
