Songdo sushi restaurant at a 5:15pm wait with two kids: Sushi Doku
In short
Sushi Doku The Songdo is a sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor of Onesta Mall in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon. Arriving at 5:15pm with two young children meant a short wait for a table, after which the parents shared the deluxe sushi set (myeongpum sushi) at 25,900 won while the 5- and 3-year-old daughters split a single kids' set, with tonkatsu left over to take home. Between the sushi, udon, tempura and truffle chawanmushi in one set, Sushi Doku The Songdo has become this family's regular spot since moving to Songdo.

There's a place I keep coming back to whenever I'm craving sushi since moving to Songdo. It's Sushi Doku's Onesta branch!
I've visited many times since moving to Songdo last year, and every time I go, the food and the set composition satisfy me — at some point it just became our family's go-to restaurant.
This time we went again for dinner with our two kids. My husband and I ordered our usual deluxe set for ₩25,900, and the kids shared one kids' set between them. (And even ordering it that way, we still had leftovers.... haha)

Where is Sushi Doku The Songdo, and what are its hours?
Sushi Doku The Songdo

- Hours: 11:00 – 21:00
- Break time: 14:30 – 17:00

It's close to Exit 2 of Technopark Station, and easy to reach from Songhyeona and Triple Street too, so it's a great meal spot after shopping.
Was there a wait at 5:15pm on a weeknight?
Sushi Doku tends to get crowded during meal times, so I usually check whether there's a wait before heading over. You can register for the waitlist via Catch Table outside the restaurant, and according to the listed store info, reservations are also possible.
It seems especially convenient to check ahead if you're visiting with a group. This time I thought going a bit early would be fine, but we got there around 5:15pm and there was already a wait....ugh.
When you're moving around with kids, the longer the wait, the harder it is on both parents and children, so if you're visiting as a family like us, I'd recommend checking ahead.

Why the 25,900-won deluxe sushi set every time
When I come to Sushi Doku, I almost always order the deluxe set. The deluxe sushi set is 10 pieces for ₩25,900. It's not just sushi — it comes with tempura and other dishes, so it's a pretty solid meal on its own.
The sushi isn't skewed toward one type — you get to taste a variety of ingredients, and the sashimi is fresh too, so it's satisfying every single time!!!

Time to sit down and order. They seem to always have a review event going on haha. We joined this time too!! And got otoro (fatty tuna) as a bonus.
A tidy soy sauce brush and utensils! When they're packaged like this, it just feels reassuring to eat.
They set up kids' tableware too.

It was too packed to get a good shot, but the interior is exactly what you'd picture for a clean, tidy sushi restaurant. It's bigger than expected and has private spaces too, so it seems good for group dinners as well.

What comes on the table: sushi, udon, tempura and chawanmushi
It comes out fast once you order! Looking at the price alone, ₩25,900 for the deluxe set isn't exactly cheap, but once you actually see the full spread, it feels like solid value. That's why, even after multiple visits since moving to Songdo, I keep coming back to order the deluxe set again.

The sushi lineup looks upscale and fresh too.
Udon that rivals a dedicated udon restaurant! At first I couldn't finish it because I was too full, but I guess my appetite's grown — I finish it all now haha.

The tempura is genuinely delicious too — the shrimp tempura is huge, and the crab tempura is also a standout. The sauce is a bit lacking, but I find it cleaner and better when I use just a little.

We had the salad too haha.
Chawanmushi (savory egg custard)!! Haha this one has truffle in it too, so it's upscale and delicious.

It's hard to become a regular at a place that's only good on one or two visits, but even after multiple visits since moving to Songdo last year, my satisfaction with the food hasn't dropped. Sushi especially depends on freshness, and every time I've eaten here the taste has been clean and I've liked it — plus with everything else that comes with the set, I rarely leave feeling like something's missing. Haha, good stuff.

Can a 5- and 3-year-old share one kids' set?
My two daughters are 5 and 3, and they shared one kids' set between them — and there was still food left over (we took the leftover tonkatsu home to go!). It had all the dishes kids would love, so the two of them shared it happily, and my worry that there wouldn't be enough turned out to be completely unnecessary.

Even the kids' set had a huge shrimp — whoa.
There was tamago (egg) sushi too, which got eaten right away haha.
And then the otoro from the review event on top of it all!!! We really left stuffed.

Is Sushi Doku The Songdo worth it for a family of four?
Once again, all four of us walked out full. For our family, Sushi Doku isn't really a place we save for special occasions anymore — it's more the go-to spot that naturally comes to mind whenever we're craving sushi.
The deluxe set especially feels like good value for the price since you get a variety of sushi and tempura together, and the kids' set is generous enough that our 5- and 3-year-old shared it with leftovers, so I think we'll order the same combo again next time.
If you're looking for a sushi restaurant in Songdo you can bring kids to, or if you want a hearty meal with more than just sushi, this place might be worth a visit~~!
