Jjamppong set for two with 3-hour parking in Bucheon: Glory Works

In short

Glory Works is a Chinese restaurant on the first floor of Sigma Tower, right in front of Sangdong Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi. Two diners ordered the set that pairs garlic tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) with jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) topped with a fried egg, a seafood-packed jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and drinks, then finished by mixing free rice from the self-serve corner into the leftover sauce. With 3 hours of parking covered in the building, Glory Works is an easy stop for a quick bowl on the way home from work.

Kiosk ordering and what is on the Glory Works menu

At Glory Works you can order via the kiosk installed at every table, and they had jjajangmyeon, jaengban jjajang (platter jjajang), seafood jjamppong, jjajangbap, meat jjamppong-bap, and more!

They also had algon jjamppong, shrimp fried rice, garlic tangsuyuk, chili/cream shrimp, and kkanpunggi (crispy spicy chicken), so it'd also be great for a drink on the way home!!haha

The two of us went ahead and ordered the set with garlic tangsuyuk, jjajang, jjamppong, and drinks, and we ate really well and got completely full!!haha

What does the garlic tangsuyuk taste like?

Even though it's cooked to order, the garlic tangsuyuk came out really fast!!haha The batter was thin and crispy, and the sauce was a chili sauce packed with garlic!!haha

The tangsuyuk at Glory Works, a Bucheon Chinese restaurant near Sangdong, has really thick pork that's great to chew, and the crispy batter tastes good too — it was really delicious, and the sauce flavor especially stood out!!haha

Cross-section of tangsuyuk showing thick pork

It's not too sweet or heavy, just full of a mellow garlic aroma, so you can dip it deep without feeling weighed down, and it's warm and really tasty haha Definitely try it!!

The meat was chewy with no gamey smell, which was really nice! After a bite or two, the jjamppong and jjajangmyeon showed up fast too!!haha

Tangsuyuk, jjajangmyeon, and jjamppong laid out together

Whoa~~ Look at this whole spread, isn't it amazing!?haha Glory Works, this Bucheon Chinese restaurant recommendation near Sangdong, got the food out really fast so there was no waiting around to worry about!

Glory Works jjajangmyeon topped with a fried egg

Jjajangmyeon topped with a fried egg

Glory Works' jjajangmyeon is the real deal — it even comes with a Chinese-style fried egg on top, so there's the fun of popping the yolk!

Mixed jjajangmyeon noodles

Definitely on a different level from delivery jjajangmyeon — the flavor and the chewiness of the noodles were so good, and the jjajang sauce was really tasty with bursting umami!!haha

Jjajangmyeon noodles lifted with chopsticks

You end up grabbing a lot with your chopsticks and it goes straight to your mouth — anyone who knows, knows!! That feeling of happiness filling your whole mouth was really good haha

Is the jjamppong broth at Glory Works spicy and salty?

And even though it's the regular jjamppong, it was packed with seafood — squid, mussels, shrimp, and all kinds of vegetables, so lots of ingredients that made it really filling!

The noodles were nice and springy, great for slurping up, and the broth wasn't as spicy or salty as its color suggested, which was really nice haha

A bowl of jjamppong with squid and mussels

The broth is clean and not greasy, a light and refreshing taste, so if you like that kind of not-too-intense, refreshing, clean flavor, I definitely recommend Glory Works!!haha

Self-serve rice mixed with leftover sauce

To finish, we mixed the self-serve rice into the leftover sauce, and it was truly the best haha

It was a really filling and satisfying meal! It was so delicious that I plan to visit again next time I'm near Sangdong Station!!
