A variety of salt bread flavors in Songdo

Lately, I’ve been having so much fun searching out tasty bakery cafés in Songdo. This time, while looking for a café in Songdo, Incheon, I discovered Cafe Cozy Bear Salt Bread Bakery Songdo Hagwonga Branch. I’d heard so much about how good the salt bread was here, so I was curious—and after trying it myself, I could see why people call it a great salt bread spot! There were lots of breads to choose from, and it was perfect for a quick treat with coffee, so I wanted to introduce it to anyone looking for a café in Songdo!

Freshly baked salt bread twice a day
Oh, they make and sell salt bread baked fresh on the day, twice a day. Ooh! My trust level immediately went way up, haha. There was also a welcome promotion when I visited: buy three salt breads and get one free. It seemed great for anyone who wants to try several flavors. Thanks to that, I picked out a little of this and that and took it home, haha.

If you love bread, the display is hard to simply walk past, so I spent a while deciding. You walk in thinking you’ll choose just one, then end up putting several in your basket—that kind of feeling, haha. What I was most looking forward to, though, was the salt bread in all its different flavors.
Salt bread in a variety of flavors

I ordered an iced Americano too, haha. The coffee was really affordable, which I loved! It tasted so good too—I’ll have to visit again next time! They packed the salt bread in a cute little bear bag, so I was able to bring it home safely.

Four flavors of salt bread to take home
Plain salt bread

Once home, I tried them one by one, starting with the most basic plain salt bread! You’re always most curious about the classic one, right? The outside was mild and nutty, while the inside was soft, making it easy to enjoy without feeling heavy. The rich buttery flavor with a salty touch went wonderfully with coffee. Personally, if you’re trying salt bread for the first time, I’d recommend beginning with the plain one.
Garlic and pollock roe salt bread

Next was the garlic salt bread! The garlic aroma gave it a completely different feel from the plain salt bread. The distinctive garlic fragrance and buttery richness came together for a fuller flavor. If you usually enjoy garlic bread or garlic-flavored breads, I think you’d like this style too. I also tried the pollock roe salt bread, which I’d been especially looking forward to. The combination of savory salted pollock roe and salt bread had plenty of umami! Its flavor was more pronounced than the plain version, so even having one as a snack felt a little more substantial.
Red bean butter

Last was the red bean butter salt bread. If you love red bean butter, this may be the one that catches your eye most. The sweetness of red bean paste and the nutty richness of butter met the salt bread in a delicious sweet-and-salty combination. Buying all four at once made it nice to share one each with my family, and it was fun choosing according to our individual tastes. There were so many kinds of bread that next time, I’d like to try the other bakery items one by one too.
