Songdo Korean restaurant for chicken kalguksu: Eonyang Dak Kalguksu
In short
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is a Korean restaurant in Yeonsu, Incheon, serving chicken kalguksu and chicken gomtang. We had extra-large portions with the kids, and the chewy noodles and rich perilla-seed broth were especially memorable. Verdict: a worthwhile stop for noodle dishes and savory, clean-tasting soup.

Chicken Kalguksu Discovered in Songdo
Last time I went to Songdo to see the Incheon Furniture Fair, I found an unexpected great restaurant. I went to Eonyang Dak Kalguksu because it looked like a good place to eat with the kids, and the savory broth and chewy noodles were seriously delicious. Parking was easy too, so this is the kind of chicken kalguksu spot I think I’ll visit often whenever I’m in Songdo.
It seems to be well known as a restaurant in Songdo’s District 1, and it was busy even on the weekend. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with last orders at 8:30 p.m. It is near the back entrance of the Songdo food-supply mart.

Chicken Kalguksu and Chicken Gomtang Menu
The menu is simple. Along with chicken kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and chicken gomtang (chicken soup with rice), there were chili braised chicken, soy-sauce braised chicken, and suyuk (boiled pork) as well.

You can order extra-large portions, extra chicken, or extra rice. They say they use house-made noodles, and because they are aged noodles, they take a little time to cook.
So we filled the gap first with chewy dumplings. Just as the name promised, their springy texture was excellent, and it immediately gave me the feeling that the noodles would be good too.

Dipped in the house soy sauce, they were so moreish. They had me considering ordering one more serving of dumplings.

A Comfortable Restaurant for Kids and Solo Diners
The restaurant is clean and spacious, making it a comfortable place to eat in Songdo, Incheon. There are also seats for one, so it looked great for dining alone.

Another plus is the convenient self-service bar, along with phone chargers.

The self-service bar had scissors, children’s spoons and forks, and small plates, so it was easy to use. They also make the kimchi fresh every day, and there was spicy kimchi too. If you want your chicken kalguksu with a bit of heat, add the kimchi like a seasoning.

This Songdo, Incheon restaurant was busy even during the weekend rush. It was also a great place for lunch with the kids.

Extra-Large Chicken Kalguksu and Chicken Gomtang
A little later, our food was ready. I had the extra-large chicken kalguksu, and my wife had the extra-large chicken gomtang. I wondered how the gomtang would come in an extra-large serving, and it seemed to have more rice.
Wow... I could feel the bounce in the noodles from the moment I lifted them with the tongs. This Songdo, Incheon restaurant was perfectly suited to me and my eldest, since we both love noodle dishes.

Both the chicken gomtang and chicken kalguksu come with half a chicken.

Wow... the noodles were genuinely chewy and delicious. They slipped smoothly into my mouth, with no raw flour smell—just clean, mild flavor. The noodles were really good.

The broth in particular was so rich and tasty. Add a little pepper to suit your taste, and you simply cannot put your spoon down. What a surprising Songdo, Incheon find.

The kids were happily taking care of lunch after falling for the chewy dumplings. They finished the dumplings, finished the noodles, and even ate rice just like me. An extra-large portion still covers it for now... I’d better keep working hard and earning money.

Make a salt dipping sauce for the chicken, then have it with spicy kimchi, and it is just right for a hearty meal.
Rice in Perilla-Seed Broth
Of course, you have to add rice to the leftover broth from the chicken kalguksu. It was already seasoned, which was just right for my taste. If you do not like strong seasoning, though, they also have unseasoned broth if you ask.
Maybe because of the perilla seeds, the broth was thick, nutty, and mild all at once—the balance at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch was really good. It felt optimized for a flavor that anyone would find delicious.

I should not have too much broth because of my diet... but I kept slurping it down while marveling at it. After a filling lunch, dessert was Deowisanyang... ah, no, we passed a building that looked similar and headed to Songdo Convensia. Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is one I recommend because the restaurant is clean, parking is convenient, and above all, the food is delicious. Especially if you usually enjoy noodle dishes or savory, mild broth, I recommend stopping by at least once.
