Notldun, the Seongsu café to visit after a Seoul Forest walk

On a nice weekend I was wandering around Seoul Forest and stopped by Notldun, a Seoul Forest café, for dessert and coffee!

The Seongsu / Seoul Forest area is especially fun for café-hopping, and it's a great spot to visit after a walk through the park!

It's on one of the hot Seoul Forest alleys, so there can be a wait on weekends! We had a wait too — about 2 groups ahead of us — but we got seated quickly! And since Notldun stays open until 10pm, you can enjoy dessert leisurely even late in the evening!!

What's in the Notldun showcase, from madeleines to whole cakes

Walking into Notldun, the first thing that caught my eye was the desserts! You could even watch them being made in person!

Notldun's Signature Noir — I always make a point of trying the signature item, so I noted this one!

Every single one looked so pretty it was hard to decide what to get! The visuals were seriously amazing! Would make a great gift too!!

There are so many pretty dessert cafés in Seongsu these days, but Notldun wasn't just about photogenic desserts — it was fun to look at because it had a wide range of cakes and baked pastries together!

From madeleines to cakes, there was so much variety that dessert lovers could enjoy just browsing the showcase! Just from the visuals, I could tell why it's known as one of the best dessert spots in Seongsu!!

Notldun gift packing comes in several sizes

Gift packing also comes in a variety of sizes, from a small, no-pressure size to full packages with a range of items — great to have that wide selection!! Hope an occasion comes up soon where I get to gift madeleines!!

Financiers were also great for gifting!! Baked pastries rarely have strong likes/dislikes, so they're easy to give as gifts!!

Ordering a decaf iced americano and lemonade at Notldun

For drinks we went with a decaf iced americano and lemonade! You could even choose the decaf beans!

For dessert I picked the Signature Noir, though the Pistachio Festival also caught my eye and I was torn! Since we had dinner plans right after, I only picked one — next time I'll come earlier and try a few!

The overall vibe of the space was clean and modern!

Notldun's madeleines aren't the usual kind — they come in various flavors, which made me curious!! And the visuals were so pretty! The madeleines were soft, so I thought they'd make a great gift for older relatives too!!

When the staff brought out the dessert, they carefully set out a fork and knife too!! Not just a café — it really felt like being served dessert at a high-end lounge!! And... honestly it tasted way better than most hotel lounges!!

The iced americano, lemonade, and Signature Noir arrived! The coffee and dessert were both so good that I'd recommend this place for a blind date or a date spot too!!

What does the Signature Noir taste like?

A sweet dessert paired with coffee is hard to get wrong! Seongsu has no shortage of cafés, but if you want good coffee plus a properly high-quality dessert, I'd recommend Notldun, a dessert-focused café!!

Notldun's Signature Noir is a dessert made with milk chocolate mousse, almond praline, whiskey cream, and a crispy croutillant!

Just as it looks, it was packed with sweet chocolate flavor, and the rich chocolate taste was smooth and clean!!

And the crispy croutillant on the bottom added texture, making the dessert feel even more layered!!

Visiting Notldun on a weekend? Start slowly at the showcase

When I visited, being a weekend, the showcase was packed with a variety of desserts! In particular there was a wide range, from signature items to madeleines, mille-feuille, and cakes, so it was easy to pick based on your taste! Since the menu can change with the season or the timing of your visit, it seems like a place that keeps things exciting every time you come! Seeing the showcase in person and picking on the spot was fun too!! Personally, at dessert cafés like this, I think it's more fun to slowly browse the showcase rather than just look at a menu, and choose whatever you're most in the mood for that day!

After a long walk around Seoul Forest and the nearby showrooms, taking a break with a cup of coffee and dessert felt so relaxing and healing!!

If you're looking for a café in Seongsu, you end up wanting somewhere with a special dessert rather than just coffee, and I think Notldun is a place worth saving if you're after one of the best dessert spots in Seongsu!
