We're the food-hunting couple who go around checking out good restaurants. Today's spot is a bakery café in Haenggung-dong — we found it while looking for a café with a Hwaseong Fortress wall view, and it turned out to be perfect for a Haenggung-dong date and quiet enough for getting work done too: Caffeine Focus!

The bakery case: Haenggung-dong sourdough and more

As soon as we walked in, there was a whole case full of really good-looking desserts! This café is also known for its sourdough in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, so there was a healthy variety — sourdough, ciabatta, egg scones, banana muffins, cake slices, and more.

We happily ordered two egg scones to share!

Since it's such a well-known café in Haenggung-dong, there was outdoor terrace seating too! Such a great spot to enjoy a cup of coffee, right? Haha. The weather's been really nice and cool lately, and it was so pleasant that day we actually debated sitting outside haha.

There were so many coffee options too — after some deliberation, we ended up ordering two drinks: a zero-energy ade and a coconut matcha cloud!

My boyfriend loves working out so he went for something with an energy-boost feel, and since I already love matcha and coconut, I decided to try this new menu item haha.

2nd-floor fortress-wall window seats, 3rd-floor terrace

Going up to the second floor, you get this gorgeous space! It was already almost full with people. The space was so pretty, and since this is a café known for its Hwaseong Fortress wall view, the scenery outside the windows was gorgeous too haha.

The weather was especially good that day, so the sky was this deep, clear blue — I thought, this really is the perfect date café for Haenggung-dong, Suwon.

Go up one more floor and there's this outdoor terrace space! It's a sunlit terrace seat, so it seems perfect for couples to chat or for friend gatherings too haha.

Every single detail of the interior was so pretty that I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for an aesthetic café in Haenggung-dong, Suwon!

How the drinks and egg scones were served

Our coconut matcha cloud, zero-energy ade, and two egg scones arrived! Aren't the cups so pretty? Haha. The plating was so nice we were busy taking photos at this Haenggung-dong café.

Seeing the refreshing-looking drinks and the plump egg scone made me crave sweet dessert even though we'd already eaten a full lunch, lol. I guess there really is a separate stomach for dessert, haha.

The coconut matcha cloud looked even prettier because it's made with what looks like clear coconut water. The transparent visual was so vivid and kind of fascinating, lol. I've had plenty of lattes but never a drink like this.

What do the egg scones taste like?

The egg scone was pretty big for the price, so good value haha. I ordered it because I love egg tarts, and I was very satisfied! It was baked to a beautifully golden brown, so I dug in right away.

We split the egg scone in half, and yep — this really is a proper bakery dessert spot in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, lol.

The flavor of the egg scone was seriously amazing! Even though it's a scone, it was on the softer side so it didn't feel dry going down, and it was packed with a soft, moist egg filling that was sweet and so delicious, ugh. Especially good paired with coffee — perfection!

What is a coconut matcha cloud?

The coconut matcha cloud was an unfamiliar menu item — at first I thought maybe it was a matcha latte with coconut in it, but it was a completely different, light kind of drink!

It's coconut water with a thick matcha cream sitting on top, and you just mix it well before drinking haha. It was more fragrant and light than I expected, and the matcha flavor still came through richly — I really enjoyed it.

Is the zero-energy ade a good pick if you're dieting?

The zero-energy drink is great for anyone who exercises to enjoy without guilt! My boyfriend usually likes zero-calorie energy boosters, and this tasted somewhat similar. It's cool and sweet, and the fact that it's zero calories, haha — dieters can drink it worry-free too.

It also had a refreshing lemon-lime scent along with the taste of energy drinks like Bacchus or Vita 500, so it would be perfect when you need an energy boost, lol.
