Thai massage in Cheonan for a mom's tight shoulders and hips: Rutai

My baby's been going through that phase where she wants to be held constantly, so I've been picking her up and walking around nonstop — my hips, shoulders, legs, basically my whole body hurts ㅠㅠ So I went to a Thai massage shop in Bulddang-dong, Cheonan.

Actually my husband had told me before to try Rutai Massage Cheonan Sinbuldang Branch if my body was bad, and then I got a sponsored chance to go. Once I actually tried it, I got why he recommended it as a great massage place…❤️ Here's my very satisfied review of getting a massage in Bulddang-dong, Cheonan.

Is there enough parking?

A lot of shops in Bulddang-dong have cramped, tight parking, but here on weekdays there's plenty of room, and even big cars can park without worry (which I think is the most important thing for any shop in Bulddang-dong).

Head up to the 3rd floor and you're there.

When the elevator door opens, this is what you see — you can't see inside at all, so I worried for a second, is this a sketchy place...? But it clearly said it was a legitimate business~ Once inside, my worries were almost funny because it was such a clean, safe Thai massage place haha. You just press the bell on the door and go in!

The interior and shower room

Inside, it was decorated in a way that was upscale yet clean, with various colors harmonizing nicely. And the scent was really nice too!

There's also a shower space, so if you want to wash up after your treatment, you can shower too!!!^_^

How the Rutai Massage treatment works — starting with a foot bath

After changing into treatment clothes, you do a foot bath.

While your feet soak in warm water, the therapist in charge comes and scrubs them with something like salt hahaha. It already feels like a treatment❤️ She scrubbed away at my feet, all the pedicure worn off, back and forth.

Do you have to tip?

The Rutai Massage shop has a sign about tips — it's not required, but they say if you tip before the massage, 'flowers bloom on the therapist's face' and the effect goes up, so I wanted to give one. I hadn't brought cash and it was my first time, so I didn't tip, but next time I want to ^_^ Ah! There's no pressure and no atmosphere that makes you feel you must give one.

Private 1-person, 2-person and 3-person rooms

Everything is set up as rooms, so it's private~ There are 1-person, 2-person and 3-person rooms, so it's good for going alone, getting a couple's treatment together, or going with a group of friends!^_^

I came alone, so I got the private 1-person room!!! I changed clothes and the treatment began.

Full-body acupressure — how satisfying was it?

They press on you using their whole body — hands, knees, elbows and more — and it honestly felt like an acupressure stick hahahaha.

It's not just pressing hard randomly — she calmly worked through the exact spots that needed pressure, and it genuinely felt so satisfying~~~

It's not done with just hands either — she skillfully used her body weight to release the muscles. Check the video too!!!

Pro tip — tell the owner your requests in advance

Ah, but since my left leg hurt, I asked her to focus more on that leg, but when I explained it in a long sentence she couldn't quite understand. The owner is Korean, so if you have specific requests, it's better to tell the owner beforehand. Simple phrases like 'harder,' 'softer,' 'it hurts, gently,' 'stronger' are all understood fine.

She was kind and skilled, and there was a reason my husband told me to go here. Super satisfied!!!

Requesting a therapist and reservations

The therapist who did my treatment was really good, I loved her, but you can only request a specific therapist from the 75-minute course onward. My husband, who's also been to Rutai Massage in Bulddang-dong, Cheonan, said he liked it too, so it seems like everyone there is generally good haha. You can book on Naver Reservation, so if your body feels stiff, give it a try. I went as a sponsored visit, but I already knew by word of mouth that they give great treatments, and I'd 100 percent go back^_^ The price is good value too❤️ That's it for my real review!
