When it comes to must-eat food on a Jeju trip, it's got to be black pork, right~
This time, while traveling around Aewol, I went to smash some black pork near Gwakji Beach — this is my story about Nopo Dwaeji Aewol, a Gwakji Beach favorite haha.

Walking distance from Gwakji Beach — what about parking?
It was within walking distance of Gwakji Beach and pretty close to Handam Beach too, so it made a great stop while touring Aewol, Jeju! There's a large parking lot behind the restaurant too, so parking was easy :)

Atmosphere and seating
Nopo Dwaeji Aewol has such a strong Jeju vibe! I'm already getting excited just thinking about smashing black pork on a Jeju trip. With wood-tone interiors, soft lighting, and a clean building, it's perfect for a family meal out or a group dinner while traveling Jeju.

From round tables to bigger tables that fit a whole group... it seems like a fun spot to come with a bunch of people~ I love sitting around a round table chatting with everyone! It kind of feels like hanging out at a street food tent, doesn't it?! haha

Menu and prices at Nopo Dwaeji Aewol
- Black pork geungogi (thick-cut meat) 600g / ₩72,000
- Pork neck or belly add-on, 400g / +₩48,000
It's a set where you can try both pork neck and belly together — they say they age carefully selected Jeju black pork for over 168 hours before serving the neck and belly together!

SNS receipt review event
At this Jeju black pork specialty restaurant, if you leave a receipt review with a pretty photo, you could get a free stew or naengmyeon (cold noodles)!

The self-serve bar
There was a separate self-serve bar set up on one side of the restaurant! It was nice being able to grab whatever side dishes or vegetables you needed ~ the wraps, onions, and sauces were all neatly organized, so it was easy to see everything at a glance haha.

Thick Jeju black pork on the charcoal grill
Here's today's long-awaited star — the black pork. The moment it hit the grill, the sizzling sound and the visuals were on point haha. A well-aged black pork specialist speaks for itself when it comes to freshness too ~

I was honestly surprised by how neat the side dish setup was! The lineup of tasty sauces made every bite of meat delicious no matter what I dipped it in, I got so excited >3< Being near Gwakji Beach already made the trip route great, and having delicious food on top of that — what more could you ask for ~

Basic side dishes and wraps
Clean, simple side dishes that bring out the flavor of the meat! The wraps were fresh too, and the neatly arranged side dishes were substantial enough that I tried each one haha. The wraps were pure freshness — piling on black pork with sides and sauce for a big wrap was seriously delicious.

Thickness and taste of the geungogi (thick-cut meat)
The black pork I'd been waiting and waiting for finally showed up! Can you tell how thick the meat is just from the photo?! ♡ On top of that it was juicy and stayed moist, so I was in a good mood the whole time I ate haha.

Especially the parts with a thick layer of fat — the savory flavor bursts in your mouth, and it was fun how the taste changed depending on what you paired it with haha.

Who I'd recommend this to
If you're traveling toward Gwakji Beach or Handam Beach in Jeju and want to smash some black pork at a Gwakji Beach favorite, I'd recommend Nopo Dwaeji Aewol as a great spot for a filling meal with family, a partner, or friends :)
