Suwon Station weekend course lunch with a free ade coupon: Hado
In short
Hado is a course-dining restaurant on Hyanggyo-ro, between Suwon Station and Haenggung-dong in Suwon, Gyeonggi. After a friend's hotel booking mix-up turned into a last-minute Suwon weekend trip, the writer booked Hado's basic course (45,000 won per person) through Naver Reservation and shared vongole and bisque pasta with chicken breast and chuck flap sous vide steaks. Generous pasta portions and a quiet room make Hado a solid pick for anniversaries or first dates.

A quiet weekday afternoon... my friend texted me. She'd messed up a hotel booking in Suwon and it turned out she couldn't cancel it. I'd wanted to visit Suwon anyway, so when she said we might as well go together and have some fun, I was so in! Haha. We made plans and headed out that weekend.
Since I was already in Suwon, I wanted more than just an ordinary meal — something with a bit of atmosphere. While searching for good restaurants in Suwon, Hado caught my eye for its mood and course lineup. It looked like a great spot for a date around Haenggung-dong, or even for something special like an anniversary, so I booked through Naver Reservation and went. Here's the review!

How to get to Hado from Suwon Station or Hwaseong Fortress
It's about a 27-minute walk from Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, or about 23 minutes from Exit 9 of Suwon Station. Since it sits between the station and Haenggung-dong, it's easy to build a day out around Haenggung-dong before or after the meal.
For couples especially, having a meal at Hado and then heading to a Haenggung-dong café or a stroll around Hwaseong Fortress makes for a natural date course. If driving, there's 1 hour free parking in the building's basement lot (₩1,000 per 30 minutes after that).
Booking Hado on Naver Reservation and the free ade coupon

Hado can be booked through Naver, and when reserving, you choose the pasta and steak type per person, so the menu is decided before you even arrive. The default is chicken breast steak; chuck flap steak is a ₩21,000 upgrade. Since I wanted to try both, I changed just one of our courses.

Inside Hado: atmosphere and seating
The first thing that caught my eye walking into Hado was the dark, black-toned interior. The lighting was soft overall, giving it a calm, upscale mood without tipping into stiff fine-dining formality. Best of all, it has an open kitchen, so if you sit at the bar you can watch the chefs prepping and plating.

There are 4 tables for two, 2 tables for four, and a bar. The space itself isn't huge, but the table spacing and quiet vibe make it easy to focus on conversation while eating. That makes it a good match for a Haenggung-dong date restaurant, or for anniversaries and blind dates where talking matters.

There's also a spot for charging your phone and storing coats or bags, so you don't have to hang your bag on the chair through the meal. It gave the impression they think carefully about guest comfort.
Hado course menu and prices

Hado offers a summer course and a basic course, and I ordered the Hado basic course. You'd expect course dining to be pricey, but the basic course is ₩45,000 per person, so it felt less of a stretch than I expected.
- Basic course: ₩45,000 (per person)
- Chuck flap upgrade: +₩21,000
Basic course starters: pea tart and sweet shrimp apple tart

The starters were a pea tart and a sweet shrimp apple tart. The server explained what each dish was made of and even told us the order to eat them in. The pea tart had peas, pea shoots, and nasturtium flowers over pea purée. I'm not much of a pea person, so to me it mostly just tasted like... peas, haha.
The sweet shrimp apple tart had marinated sweet shrimp and apple over potato purée, and personally I liked this one more! The sweet shrimp's natural sweetness, the apple's freshness, and the soft potato purée went together better than I expected — a great appetizer.

Vongole and bisque pasta: is the portion generous?
For mains, we each picked a different pasta: vongole and bisque. The portions were quite generous for course pasta, so having one each was plenty satisfying.

The vongole had a rich, savory flavor from the clams. The clam meat was plump and tender, giving good texture alongside the noodles.

The bisque pasta apparently gets its deep shrimp flavor from sautéing shrimp shells and innards together. A large shrimp sat on top, and overall it had a rich, deep taste. Both were delicious, but what stood out most was the portion size. Course meals can sometimes be just a bite or two, but Hado's pasta portions were plenty generous — having one each between the two of us was fully satisfying.

Chicken breast vs chuck flap sous vide: is the 21,000-won upgrade worth it?
For protein, we ordered one chicken breast sous vide steak and one chuck flap sous vide steak to compare. The chuck flap requires a ₩21,000 add-on.

The chicken breast sous vide was much more tender and moist than expected. It came with carrot purée underneath, which wasn't overpoweringly carrot-flavored, so it wasn't heavy. And the crispy quinoa on top was a nice touch — the crunch against the soft, moist chicken kept it interesting instead of one-note.

For the chuck flap sous vide steak, the server poured the red wine sauce over it tableside. The doneness felt like medium, and true to chuck flap, it was tender with that distinct savory beef flavor. I'd been on the fence about the ₩21,000 upgrade, but it definitely had its own charm compared to the chicken.

Dessert at Hado: Earl Grey ice cream
Dessert was Earl Grey ice cream, topped with caramel sauce and a pretty chocolate cookie that added a nice crunch. There was also crumble underneath, adding a sweet, crispy layer when eaten together with the ice cream.
My friend isn't really an Earl Grey fan, but she said she enjoyed it. The flavor wasn't too strong, so even people who don't usually like Earl Grey could probably eat it without much trouble — a good palate cleanser to end the course.

Is Hado worth it for a Suwon course meal?
I wanted a special meal while visiting Suwon, and overall it was a satisfying experience at Hado. The basic course is ₩45,000 per person, the pasta portions were more generous than expected, and the lineup from starter to main to dessert felt well put together — a solid pick for anyone looking for a Suwon course restaurant that doesn't feel overpriced.
If you're dating around Hwaseong Fortress or Suwon Station and want a special meal, pairing a course at Hado with a café or a walk around Hwaseong Fortress makes a great Suwon date plan. If you're after a Haenggung-dong date restaurant, an anniversary spot, or a blind date venue with a good atmosphere, give Hado a look!
